  • I am a sales man not telemarketer.... I average a nice amount of sales a month and constantly research new approaches. I have to say mark without a doubt your approach is very weak. There are a million ways to get them to talk as opposed to your approach. Where is the enthusiasm? Where are any sales techniques? Where are the closing methods you should be utilizing?

  • Here's my script I would use..."...ummm....hello...hi "your name" with "your company" we're gonna be getting some information about our advertising to you...who should we put the attention to" When they tell you the name ask if they are that person...if they are ask a few more questions...and a few more...if they give you 10 seconds..push for 20 seconds then 30 seconds until you get all the information you need to do your job. Keep your script very short and very simple.

  • "I found your phone number on the internet..." yo that comes off mad creepy. I wouldn't tell someone anything about anybody if they said that to me. I have no idea who you are, why should I tell you anything?

    Just say "Hi I'm Mark Ace with (company name advertising), did I catch you at a bad time?"

    If you beat around the bush and are sneaky, people are not going to cooperate which is why a lot of these people are probably giving you fake names.

  • Hi Mark, can I suggest you work too hard. For some reason US cold calling isn't about building up a profile its all about the one call to sale. I would suggest that you try not to talk about the advertising and ask first who is the person responsible get their name. and go from there.   • That third call was goog but you killed it youself by speculating wheb will she have budget instead of asking what could (that stuff) the gold clipper could do better on! Then you let her open up and its time for you to tell her what you could do and deliver....soooooolllldd!!!!!

  • This man can try abit harder for e.g. he confirms that their is a customer which is all set, he saids, thanks for your help? may be ask questions, see if you can save the customer some money, compare some prices or may be offer a better service and so on.

  • I make near 150 plus calls a day for my advertisment agency here in Tucson and send out about 25 emails. Out of all those I may only close 2 sales or none, its all about getting the info out, and following up to close. If you can't close then you can't be in sales. Only the interested people get my time and effort, NO PIKERS. Mark is doing a great job, looks like he's working from a pen and pad as well, thats gotta be tough. At least he's got a headset, I use a handset, gets tiring after a bit.

  • @aduttonater for my shitty merchant account company here in San Diego i must call 400 numbers from our leads in a 6 hour work day, and the demand 4 appointments. if you dont have 2 by lunch you just go home and its fucking min wage ! 2 weeks and i am dieing for a new job fast food is better than this shit!!

  • He may received objections, no doubt about it. But the approach wouldn't hurt him too much. You are right when you say there are some people out there who needs our services, we just need to find them. I believe he knows what he's doing.

  • He is doing a great job. All the enthusiasm in the world or "never taking no for an answer" will only wear you out. There are always some people out there who are interested in your product or service right now. You just need to find them. He might want to ask them about any "problems" they might be having with their current marketing strategy though.

  • it isnt that bad if you worked in a latin american country. we get paid less than $10 /hour in nicaragua but at a call center, i got paid over $12 /hour
