The Adaptive Armor was given to the Toa by Artahka when they entered his realm. It first began to adapt as they were falling near Karda Nui, prompting the armor to allow them to fly. As they split up into the Phantoka and Mistika, the Phantoka were given the Midak which shoot light to combat the Shadow Matoran and Makuta. The Mistika entered the swamps and since the Makuta had Nynrah Ghostblasters, they were given these too.

Mistika had fins for floating, and Phantoka were streamlined for air.

And for the vehicles, the armor adapted to fit the vehicle and to give the rider a visor with fins to allow them to become more aerodynamic.

And that's the Adaptive Armor for ya.

Personally, I am mixed on my reviews about the '08 Toa. It started to drop down for me in '06 until this year, where (as I see it) it seems to start to get a little better, what with bringing back old pieces and colors, new colors and new pieces and designs.

I hope Lego listens to those like me who like '01 to '05.

Your review would have to be either a 3 1/2 to a 4 1/2 stars our of 5. You did good research on the models, and you did good pronouncing the names.(most people pronounce Photok like "Phu-talk, but it is how you said it.) Over-all it was pretty good. Not very cheesy, like other reviews i've seen. You did good. keep it up.

Pohatu Mata was my first Bio ever. Also, my favorite character.

But this. This is garbage. It looks like a bloody orange gorilla with gasmask. That's why I stopped buy this toys a year ago.They all look like some really bad fanfictions.
