High quality animation and voices, pity that the opportunity was wasted. High School humour and didn't face any real issues like New World Order. Have Bush take a call from Rockefellers or Rothschild bankers and take their orders to give it some realism.
lol, conspiracy theorists, have you ever seen any proof of them, besides wars that can be explained as government agendas such as the way the normans had all of these towns killed to "kill of the pagans and heretics" as they said to the people, but really to just take them over? or do you think they had a secret agenda too? dumb conspiracy theorists.
oh my god! George bush is stupid! He looks like a monkey! He talks about terrists! Oh hey! Ahnooolld. lollllll. look at the way he talks... he said girlie men.. looLLLlll
This is an awesome toy, and all the work you've put into it shows. But as it is not just meant to be a toy for you, but entertainment for the viewers, you really need to work on content. The "GET THAT EVILDOER KAL!" schtick comes across as braggadocio.
On October 20, 1942, the U.S. government ordered the seizure of German banking operations in New York City. Roosevelt's Alien Property Custodian, Leo T. Crowley, signed Vesting Order Number 248 seizing Bush's property under the Trading with the Enemy Act. The order cited only the Union Banking Corporation (UBC), of which Bush was a director

ya, postmodernist self-referential, self absorbed, self-important hubristic arrogant junk. Kal would make all the same mistakes a GW and then some. Dork.
This is a great accomplishment by KAL who in my view is probably the most talented and professional political cartoonist in the world today. But this animation doesn't match the wit of his print cartoons and could be much funnier. In the UK in the 1980s we had a hugely successful satirical series called Spitting Image in which politicians were sent up using rubber puppet caricatures and an often great script. If KAL can better that, he's really on to a winner.
About a month ago I saw Kal speaking at an internation convention of political cartoonists in D.C. It was done as a proof of concept for some Hollywood people that are interested in this new technology. They needed to see how quickly animation could be turned around and they did this aimation in 4 days - and they can do it even faster now. 3D has been around, but not with those kind of quick turn around times.
That doesn't excuse bad writing. If all this is is a proof of concept it shouldn't be on the Economist website.
I don't know if Kal does all the normal cartoons, if so he clearly has talent. But just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. There is nothing in this piece that justifies using 3D. Your audience doesn't care if you got something boring finished in 4 days. I'd rather see a simple drawing that took 20 minutes but has an idea behind it.
As the economist's cartoonist, can't you come up with something witty or poignant instead of just going on about yourself? This is the second one that just talks about you, and I've only seen 2! Awfully boring. 3D animation came out 25 years ago, animating in 3D doesn't justify bad writing.
Iwsh Bush was still our president.

Fun. Very good animation. It says motion capture in the credits, does that mean a person as doing the dancing?

It's not that bad of itself, but the self-referential aspect is pretty annoying, it's true. Get some writers, guys. (UMBC student here)

The animation's nice, but it not being funny sort of detracts from the experience.
