With the CDJ400 and DJM400 (or really any pioneer mixer + CDJ setup) you could also use fader start, just wham the crossfader over to the other side and the CD player will go back to its cue
whats wrong with u just being 15? I started djing when i was 15. also, the set you see in this video is relatively cheap compared to other sets. This set in this video is an entry level set
yea your right wats wrong begining young....im now 15...i started at 12 and i play with pro dj as warm up dj at open event pravitat parties and so on.....i have the same set at home too....
just a reconstructive coment, you dont need to mix both soungs to to a spinback you just need to cue a part away from the begining and then do a spinback and after press cue again... thanks
on my numark axis 9, you have 4 scratch modes, one of them is when you spin back the platter, it automatically stops without continu playing the track (very handy)
hey i jus started watchin ur vids .umm im lookin 2 buy a cd deck with effects such as vinyl mode ,flanger ,filter etc but i dnt have enough money 2 buy pioneer's or denons so i am lookin at the koolsound CDJ180 and the Kam KCDJ200FX .if it would be possible could you do a review on them it dosent matter if u cant.just tell us wat u think. im practicing and n joying thanks cheezyquaverraver (joe)
Why don't you just sample the spin back in the DJM-400 then you don't have to arse about with pressing cue when you finish the spin back and also it frees up the other deck
In the music genre i enjoy, "Grime", spinbacks are used quite alot although people call them wheel ups
so when the mc "spits a good bar" or says some lyrics that the dj likes they perform a spinback, or wheel up, and starts the beat again an off goes the mc starting with that bar again
The really bad thing about spinning back on the Pioneer cdjs it the fact that if you try and spin back to much the audio stops and the cd sort of skips :|
I guess the internal memory buffer runs out in that case. The buffer size will increase over time, but I guess Pioneer didn't expect people to spin back for 5 seconds.
I just tested on my Citronics. I got about 15 seconds of music before the current place in the track in buffer. this runs out depending on how fast you spin back. Reaching that point, the cdj tries to rebuffer, meanwhile, it will use the audio it has, but this sounds like skipping indeed. This will be the case with any cdj, unless it has a large buffer and a system that rebuffers quickly, both forward and back.
if you shake a cdj (or somebody hits it, vibration, etc.), it can't read the cd anymore, and would therefore skip. The solution is to have a memory buffer. the music is read and saved into this buffer, and then played from there. If then there's an error, there are some seconds of music in the buffer to play while the cdj tries to resume reading the disc. that's an anti-shock system.
How do you do a spinback similar to on virtual dj?

will that work with cdj 200's? coz the 400's has vinyl mode..

sadly no, you do need what is know as vinyl mode , this basicaly means you can set your cdj turntable to act like a vinyl turntable. j

tGJimo 3 years ago
Very true. Lots of DJs have complained about this on the Pioneer forum but it doesn't seem as if Pioneer care very much about it.
groovindj 3 years ago
lol see if this was Behringer they would try and fix that as soon as possible
thats the problem with companies at the the top of the price range
Tomlikesmusic 3 years ago
How much is too much, is it more than once a month?
davehikah 3 years ago
Err, I don't think you get it :P
I mean if you spin the wheel back and keep spinning it for more then say 5 seconds, the audio stops.
tGJimo 3 years ago
I guess the internal memory buffer runs out in that case. The buffer size will increase over time, but I guess Pioneer didn't expect people to spin back for 5 seconds.
