(sarcastically) - yep thats what we do - go to parades and forget about the community we protect for 3-4 hours

(non-sarcastic) - theres crews stationed at house or in parade to be dispatched in case of a call (my company does this all the time for in-town parades)

Heck come to NY state, Parades = NO SIRENS, Lights only. This was put in place so if there is an emergency the department can use the sirens letting others know there's an alarm and other depts are supposed to let them through.
