He admits he got a TAB which means he got it from someone else who decided D was the right key...

The choice is based on classical guitar needing the high open E to drone on. I'll be posting it in G soon with tapping...

I think the electric guitar is closer in spirit to the baroque cello than the acoustic is. Most acoustic guitar versons of this are so sedated.

thanks. i prefer playing this piece segovia style on my nylon, because it's easier to capture emotion and compliment rhythm and melody via fingerpicking techniques...but once in a while you gotta try something different for the sake of being different! Thanks for listening!

well.. if he used the right effects at the right time... and eased up on that damn phazer effect this would be much better

and you can never go wrong with some reverb when attempting it :) .

ps. there is a little too much crunch at times too... the playing is good.. but his effects are letting him down.

plus marshal amps aren't exactly brilliant for this style of playing....

i would love to hear a blues style or a full metal (not phazerd .. not this .. but with say a much cleaner distortion .. like John Petrucci sound)

i admit the fx are over the top. it was an experiment gone wild! in retrospect i think the idea of shredding classical pieces is good, but quality of tone (and recording) is important. IMO not so much the marshall and wah let me down as does the cheap camera microphone, and my putting the foot down on the wah too much and too often.

I like the fact that the electric guitar sounds like a sort of weird cello. The wah works surprisingly well. Could have lost the run at the end though - it's not the place and it weakens the piece. There is also the usual problem with notes bleeding into each other that you get with distortion. Hard to manage.

Well done for flatpicking it - I though it was possible so I'll have to do that myself now - I do it classical technique.

this is good just is missing some of the music elements bach music must have, try lissing to the pro cellists play it to get some ideas and dont forget the firmata on the d is very important to the piece

there's nothing wrong with trying something new. i actually like the wah effect...maybe the distortion is a bit muddy here n there, but that's to be expected when you're trying to play multiple notes like you would on a classical axe. way to go...keep em comin man!

i wish i could remember, it was a good site. i remember it was a drop-D version, although I opted to keep my low E and adjusted accordingly. unfortunately, there's about a million arbitrage sites out there that send us circling around the same old crappy tab sites all day, but if i remember or stumble over it again i'll reply to this post.
