The end of the movie shows him singing the Doxology when his son shows up in church. Getting him back was beyond Charlie Anderson's ability, creating a situation where thanks were heartfelt.
Btw, what's with the description of "real men"? I'm a teacher, am I a real man? I was in the band, not on the football team, so, do I qualify? I have nothing against those that break their backs for the money they earn, but I don't take kindly to being disparaged because I'm not on the prairies killing buffalo.
@dizzypilots1 I never dug the whole "noble savage" thing. I didn't like Avatar for that reason. I just believe in specialization. Instead of being a teacher/mechanic/hunter I think its better to have people specialize in what their good at. Any economist would agree.
@majinspy At least half of the high school band were fruits. Now as to you if your partners name is Helen or Wilma or Mary you are OK. If it is George or Harold or someone from the Baton Lounge in Chicago you are a fucking fruit too. Stay away from the Sopranos if you know what I mean.
@madisonelectronic Lol that's a lot of vitriol to a 2 month old comment but, ok. I'm not a "fruit"...but one of my closest friends is. I find it puzzling and pathetic that you care so much about the fruit level of others.
@phhardy Not an atheist prayer, but a Deist prayer. In the 18th century Deism preached that after God created the universe,he said to his creation" Bye folks, you're on your own now. I'm out a here!" Jefferson,Franklin and Tom Paine among other of that era were Deist. Stewart's character seem to be saying," God exist, but he does'nt have much to do with our lives."
I collect movie prayers and this is one I have been looking for. Thanks for posting. Now how about posting the prayer at the end of the movie when he cannot bring himself to speak this prayer again and he goes out to the cemetery and prays at his wife's grave.
This is a liberal prayer. A conservative's prayer would be filled with nothing but babbling BS just like they pray in their churches today.

I love this prayer. It is so real. I loved this movie. I cry every time I watch it. Every actor was superb.
