@BigExplosionGoBoom - If you made it correctly, you shouldn't need to be below it. Just shut one eye or look at it through a phone's video viewer. The effect affects your depth perception and makes your mind believe that the head part of the model is folded the other way out.

Explanation (Spoiler alert I guess?):

The dragon illustration is actually folded inside. It's kind of like looking into an empty bowl (or box).

There are folds on the snout that cast a natural shadow that merely LOOKS like his mouth is sticking OUT towards the viewer.  It's really folded IN.
