Nah, its a Wurlitzer 200A,. Rhodes piano's have a more bell like and rounded tone, and have better expression in sound depending on how hard you play....look up "for patrick epservice".....for a good demo of Rhodes pianos...which by the way are being manufactured again..

And I love her sound. It draws from a wider variety of sources than most "artsy" girls (although I'm not sure who exactly you're referring to), including such disparate genres as classic soul, folk, blues, gospel, jazz.

And from New York? Well, most recently yes, but by way of Michigan, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Australia, Portland, LA, and London. Quite a story!

Obviously vocal quality is fairly subjective, and just as obvious that she doesn't have a traditional classically trained voice. But she's an amazing singer, songwriter, musician and arranger nonetheless. I can't believe this is her first album! There is such a timeless air to her sound.

Your son probably could sing circles around Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, too. Not that Diane's on quite that level, but just saying...
