Just to let you know, if you have DROD RPG, on DROD forums, this person called "TFMurphy" has made a TotS hold in it. After small playing, it seems otherwise exact copy expect music is different and of course, some sprites.
The contrast is made worse by my poor video encoding / resolution; in game they're just about readable.
This was one of the reasons why I read out most of the text. It gets more readable in future episodes, especially if you use the "&fmt=18" trick. Apologies.
Congrats, Malefact, your video was featured on TIGsource. I was looking through their recent posts, and I was like "Hey, I've watched that LP before" lol.
Nice job! You've got a good sense of humor (not too over the top) and you've explained the game pretty well, I think. Hopefully you'll encourage more people to play this great game. Also, check out DROD RPG if you haven't already.
As a matter of fact, I first found this game because I really love DROD RPG and discovered that this was the game which inspired it. I was tempted to Let's Play DROD, but I don't want to discourage people from buying it.
Well, do you mean Let's Play DROD (different set of games) or Let's Play DROD RPG? I don't think the DROD games are youtube-friendly with their incredibly small graphics, BUT... DROD RPG, yeah, do it! The game is very, very long, so a walkthrough is probably impractical, but I dunno, maybe an intro that explains the gameplay to people who have never seen it. If you make it, we will love you and link you.
How would a Let's Play series discourage people? I've gotten a few games after seeing Let's Play videos. Nobody's going to settle for just watching a game that they want to play.
Perhaps you're right. *I* first started watching LPs of games that I wanted to buy but were impossible to find or prohibitively expensive - I assume it's the same for a lot of people.
Hey, a fellow DROD fan... I saw this LP from having it linked by Caravel. So far: It's badly compressed, but at least you're using a screen capture program (hehe). Good sense of humor, as the guy above me said... and a nice choice of game.
i loved this game as a kiddie, shocked an lp exists.
