  • Very nice... kind of reminded me a little of Donnie Darko...

  • Loved it. I also made a short film about worm hole, portal that captures a person inside of it. you can check it, it's called Captive 9.9.9. It's not as good as this one but it's made by me. a single person ... hope you will tell me what do you think about it.

  • why dont u guys make a proper real film out of this , its realy good man , they dont make movies like this much seriously make a a real movie not a short 1 , this is good

  • That was freakin awesome! We need a full length movie of this. Great job, dude. :D

  • The slo-mo walk sequence was the only thing off for me the whole time. And I was looking very hard for problems. Amazing job man. (Take note that the side bar links from your work here to blomkamp, that's something to be proud of!)

  • @Idiomatick Thanks man. I'm definitely not the next Blomkamp but yeah that's pretty cool indeed!

  • Please, can anyone tell me which are the missing words here? i'm translating this and i don't understand that part

3:34 when i nailed those(?)_______ with my stick they came apart...

3:56 but one of _______ sneak up on me...

  • @jorgebarraf

when i nailed those parallels with my stick they came apart... (he's using it as slang... earthlings from earth, parallels from parallel universe)

but one of them managed to sneak up on me

  • @Idiomatick I thought it was "parallels" but it doesn't make any sense until you explained to me the slang thing. Thanks man :D !

  • Fuck, this shoud be a movie. I love time travel, parallel universes n shit like that

  • I realized I was holding my breath during the leap scene. This guy's good.

  • That was pretty damn good. Damn good.

  • This is extremely impressive! Everything blends so well in this film: the narration, the slow-mo, the editing, the sfx.

  • u r a true inspiration. u have provoked me to go and make my sci fi, dude. the shot in which u keep ur bag & then other things come 1 by 1 in stop motion is fantastic - i've seen hollywood, bollywood, european & many other films but, i don remember seeing this shot in any of those films.

i want to make my film now after seeing urs, u just inspired me. thanks! & best of luck for ur future films.

  • Hello, this was the first short film i watched the second it was done, i thought to my self, i will make a short film to, and i did, inspiration is the only thing i can say about this film.

  • It would be really cool if people started doing trailers like this. Instead of throwing in a bunch of shots from the movie, they would put a short together that acts as a prologue to the movie.

This short makes me want to see more, :)

  • Hey thedangaud, I just watched your video Leap. Really loved it and your style. We here at the SCIFI Geeks HDTV Festival thought you may be interested in entering or joining us at the festival we have created for sci-fi independent filmmakers and others alike. • It would had been pretty awkward if he had fallen straight into the ground that second time. Taking suicide in diving equipment.

  • Epic. very good graphics! I want to see more!

  • This is simply Epic:) A work of art from start to finish, well done:)

  • hey look heidi`s boobs

  • Do you aspire to be the next Spielberg or Cappola? If so, make your film available to the opinion of veterans in the field who will give you constructive criticism and show you a clear direction to pursue.

Turn your passion into a profession at the International Short Film Competition at Aahān 2011 hosted by the Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Management in Mumbai, India. With over 1000 short films from 43 countries being screened over the period of the last 3 years.

    It’s Lights, Camera, Aahān!

  • The whole execution was veru impressive, u guys must have done strong previs and script before shoot i guess..

  • awsome! if i ever win the lottery il give you the money to make a feature length =D thanks for this, reli enjoyed it.

  • That was amazing! I wish it was longer, I want to see more. It was well written, acted, and the effects were unbelievable. Way to go.

  • very impressive work so many people show how story is the driving force behind the visuals better than many of the best studios in the world. keep up the great work

  • this short film is so great! amazing story, visual effects, cinematography etc.! what else can i say! im so inspired to make one too.!

  • I really don't see how this doesn't have a million views. This is awesome. You should promote it more!

  • wow

  • This is awesome. That's a hell of a first short film.

  • This was AWESOME.

  • Good lord this was so engaging!

I cant wait to see your films on the big screen. This sort of reminded me of the list of super useless superpowers... his would be like the ability to travel to a parallel world by trying to commit suicide.

  • Really cool style. Enjoyed it.

  • Very cool atmosphere! A very intense experience - with great FX!

  • Remarkable. Just brilliant.

  • Dude, you are a massive inspiration to me and a lot of other film makers I'm sure. I can't say a bad word about this short film. It had me gripped from start to finish.

I've watched the visual effects breakdown as well so I appreciate you posting that too.

Best of luck in the future and I hope you continue to post your new work on this channel.

  • @rollmodelesq Damn dude! Thanks for the comment. You made my day!

  • @thedangaud Hi, can i translate this into spanish and post it? with credits, obviously. i can't find it anywhere with subs, and i want to show it to some friends who don't understand english. I mean, i have to learn how to join subs with clips, but i think is easy xDDD ...sorry if my english is bad, at least i'm a good translator 'cause i'm studiying that xdd

  • hey how did you get your hand s on a red one camera??? hey cost alot of money???dont they ??

  • Oh man, CONGRATS!! This needs to be a feature. The pacing for a 7 min. piece is spot on; it doesn't drag and it looks stunning. Make sure your proposal is tight and that you've got a good rep, then promote the hell out of it. I'm sending this out to everyone I know who likes SF. Get that feature up and running man. Saw the teaser and was intrigued, but now I'm really impressed. Well done!

  • How long did it take to do the pre. and post production along with the filming?

  • @hpathbp25 preprod was 2 weeks, the actual shooting was 2 days and the post prod was 13 months. I've done all the VFX in my spare time.. hence why it took so long.

  • Very nice, man. Very well done. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.

  • why didnt you get rid of the narrationa nd just call it 'effects reel'? that would be a bit more honest

  • dope ! :D

  • Excelent.

  • You inspire me to put my ideas into film.

  • That was really good directing

  • I'm trying to figure out why I didn't have audio in the film. My speakers are on. Other videos have audio. Hmm.. Otherwise it was great.

Brilliant idea. The visuals were great as well.

  • Great job... that was incredible!

  • I hope they give you the budget of Avatar and 2012 combined

  • Well done!

  • Someone give this guy a full movie please...

  • Wow, simply amazing movie, great Work!!!

  • I want to know what happens...

I hope more comes of this.

  • Very well done. Looked professional. Felt like a cross of Donnie Darko and Butterfly Effect.

What a laugh for the neighbors to see a guy with diving equipment jumping off the roof :)

  • kick ass, keep going!

  • I would bet you will be getting contacted soon from some big movie studio, would love a big screen adaption.

  • this is one of my favorite things I've seen on youtube. Great job.

  • That's very kind! Thanks!

  • wow amazing,im inspired to make a short movie now..

  • everything is well done but the actor tries too hard to be cool.

  • That was a fantastic short film. Phenomenal production quality, and just awesome overall.

This should be made into a full-length movie.

  • I'd love to see that into a full-length movie too! The whole film is kinda of a hybrid between a trailer and a linear short film. At least, that's what I tried to do.

  • Really terrific work! Short films usually don't present so comprehensive and creative an alternate world :D

  • great work

  • That was amazing! Great job!

Also, side note, that was a pretty nice looking BCD and regulator. What kind did you use?

  • Thanks!

    and..

I have no idea what you're talking about. :)

If it's stuff from the whole diving gear you're talking about, I'll try to ask the actor next time I see him. It was his gear!

  • Oh sorry, : D

  • Excellent!!! Love it!

  • Interesting and very well done.

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!!!! GREAT WORK

  • Veery good. cliff hanger ending makes me want a feature to answer the questions.

also: when he leaps over the edte, I couldn;t hep but wonder; What if it didn't work this time?

  • @Dizzi800 I wondered the same thing. How'd he know that it was an ability he had - not just a one-time accident?

  • More mystery that could be explained in the feature film. ;)

    I love your question guys.

The way I see it: He had no clue if it was going to work or not. So the guy rolled the dice and jumped! The whole jump sequence is a parallel to the decisions we are afraid to make in real life. Sometimes, you just have to get your shit together, forget about failure and just DO IT.

  • awesome. Also, I was wondering how you got the shot, color correction and textures were so on point I could not really tell that it was CG
