That isn't Handel and Baroque performance at all...
DaCapo arias are two part arias! Slow part and Fast part or Fast and Slow mostly, but they can't be Slow + Slow part!! The written tempo for the second part of this aria is Allegro which even in the Baroque style means fast tempo! After all the text in the second part means "If I die, I'll come back and will harras you in your dreams..."... I can't understand at all who can't perform his part? The pianist or Tebaldi?
This is absolutely beautiful. I have quite a soft spot for Renata Tebaldi; my mother (who passed away just before Christmas) introduced her music to me when I was just barely walking. It's very emotional for me.....Thankyou so much for this clip.

So moving and convincing! Very respectful of the score, like all truly great singers.
