Can 3 past employees of Walmart advertise themselves as Walmart? Can they open across the street and put up a Walmart sign? Can they lay claim to the company's accomplishments from the companies inception to the current time? No. This is the same thing. All of them were employees of Armond and Jim. Armond has all of the publishing. As long as there is a presence in the market of the legal group, then there cannot be another using the same name.
Nope. I am a long time Imperials fan though, growing up with the FIRST Imps with Jake, and the Statesmen before that. The 70's and 80's Imperials were my rock and roll, as I was a pastor's son and couldn't listen to secular music.
I do not discount my childhood. I DID get a well rounded taste of everything, and I do mean everything, later. Interests in audio engineering inspired reading about artists first, production techniques, inpirations & heros, gaving me a perspective a casual listener would not have. I love many genres and artists as a result.
Then just who IS the real Imperials? Are you speaking of four young men who claim the name, but really have nothing to prove it. None of them have won anything, but claim every award this great group has won over the past 30 years. They were in diapers when this group was winning awards. The young guys are the frauds with fraudulent claims of awards and successes they have not earned.
The real Imperials are the young guys. They bought the group from Armond. They do not say they have won any awards. They do say they are part of a group that has.
Just because you were are part of something does not give you the right to take it back up whenever you want to.

For it is ELVIS, who introduced GOSPEL MUSIC to the entire WORLD... Not to mention "secular" listeners who may have never given this type of music a seconed chance.

I would definately HAVE to agree with chefsideburns (nice name buddy)
if it wasnt for elvis and the groups he recorded and performed gospel with, like the imperials..i would NEVER have become a gospel fan. elvis is the reason i am a christian and a lover of gospel music. he was the bell sheep that led me to gospel.

I am not attempting anything but to let the truth be known. Yes, 3, of these guys were with Elvis as The Imperials. However, they are removed 30 years and now are using a name they have no right to.
By the way that is a broad comment to say Elvis introduced Gospel music to the world.

when elvis had the imperials open the show for him in vegas, that was simply unheard of at the time. people werent performing gospel music in las vegas casinos. its important that they took that message to those types of crowds that might not have heard it otherwise. and they had a great response from the people

Can 3 past employees of Walmart advertise themselves as Walmart? Can they open across the street and put up a Walmart sign? Can they lay claim to the company's accomplishments from the companies inception to the current time? No. This is the same thing. All of them were employees of Armond and Jim. Armond has all of the publishing. As long as there is a presence in the market of the legal group, then there cannot be another using the same name.

Nope. I am a long time Imperials fan though, growing up with the FIRST Imps with Jake, and the Statesmen before that. The 70's and 80's Imperials were my rock and roll, as I was a pastor's son and couldn't listen to secular music.

i am glad i grew up in a home where i could listen to anything i wanted. it allowed me to have a very well rounded taste in music

I do not discount my childhood. I DID get a well rounded taste of everything, and I do mean everything, later. Interests in audio engineering inspired reading about artists first, production techniques, inpirations & heros, gaving me a perspective a casual listener would not have. I love many genres and artists as a result.

Then just who IS the real Imperials? Are you speaking of four young men who claim the name, but really have nothing to prove it. None of them have won anything, but claim every award this great group has won over the past 30 years. They were in diapers when this group was winning awards. The young guys are the frauds with fraudulent claims of awards and successes they have not earned.

The real Imperials are the young guys. They bought the group from Armond. They do not say they have won any awards. They do say they are part of a group that has.
Just because you were are part of something does not give you the right to take it back up whenever you want to.

What part of their group has? When you learn the real facts, then get back to me. Their bio says grammy award winners, dove award winners, and hall of famers, and they are advertised that way. That is just fraudulent.

All four guys were hired by Armond to carry on The Imperials. 3 Of the guys sang with Armond as The Imperials. Armond then sold the group to the guys. That is why, again, they claim that the group, not the individuals won the awards.
Groups, sports teams and businesses in general do that all the time.

I have an idea, you can incorporate a famous gospel group with a famous football team and call it the "Imperial Steelers"
