  • Where is this?

  • @AmtrakRailfan117 Buffalo, NY Amtrak Station

  • those GEs really thunder dont they?

  • @RRYankfan They certainly do.

  • Nice vid. Do you know what kind of horn is on UP 8680? It sounds great. Thanks

  • @satinisthree That would be a brand new Nathan Airchime K5LLA

  • @jpaufsc Excellent! Thank you. I saw and heard UP 8680 last week at the Elvas Wye in Sacramento, CA. This particular horn and tuning stuck with me and I was happy to find it again here on youtube.

  • @satinisthree No problem, happy to help!

  • @satinisthree When heard from far away, it has that eerie/hellish sound similar to the K3LA of a Canadian Via Rail F40PH-2s passenger engine. 8680 sounds a little lower/minor in pitch, though.

  • @satinisthree It should sound deeper in tone due to the 1L bell it has

  • The locomotive that was starting must have been in an auto shutdown while sitting, and the engineer didn't give it enough time to crank before he started moving.

  • @Locomotive450 Yeah. I was In a GEVO once and It was on the auto start/stop cycle. Interesting how much the move when they crank up.

  • Awesome catches and great camera angles!

  • @aocruiser Thanks!

  • oh shiny!

  • That was pretty cool! Where was this?

  • @trainkid16 Thanks! This is in Buffalo, NY at the Amtrak station.

  • @jpaufsc Sweet! This just got put on my railfanning list!

  • @trainkid16 Awesome! Let me know when your in the area and we can meet up.

  • @jpaufsc Sweet! It'll be a few years though, haha.
