Just can't believe the Nostalgia Vision going on with this show. This is better than the original in EVERY possible way. I was around for both, I watched the original when I was young and this is like He-Man done right/taken seriously. It's the same with the Thundercats. Go back and watch the originals objectively. They don't hold up.
the 2002 one had deeper plots, more character development and was more serious. plus the second season was actually pretty good once it got continuity and a myth arc and some villains that could fight he-man to a stalemate and/or put him on the ropes. plus the fact that the show had a good animation budget made the art look way better than the cheap 80's art.

i think its because Adam could act as he-man without direct reprisals from one of his many enemies yes he and his family were constantly under threat even with a secret identity but if his enemies knew who he was they would come after him hard and people would be hurt in the cross fire and also he-man's greatest weakness was his empathy if people knew who he cared about they could use it to destroy he man,

Anyway when I watched this Intro I felt like I was watching Guilty Gear or something, It just felt like that! Maybe they should have made Guilty Gear The Series with this style. XD
I honestly don't know why this show didn't catch on with kids. I thought it was awesome. I think it may be my favorite of the three He-Man cartoons. Don't get me wrong, I love the original one, but I like this version a bit better, because it fixed some small issues I had with the He-Man character.
I always liked how they sort of made the intro into a combined hjomage and parody of the old intro, even going word for word up until the interruption.
