I really love Mao don't get me wrong, she is strong, she attacks well. She's got technical everything, but when I watch Yuna, i just feel like she calls out to people to feel her program with her. When I watch Mao, she just doesn't 'finish' it for me. She gets it done without a doubt. But I feel like Mao is more 'watch me kick the shit out of this,' whereas yuna is more intellectual with it.

Yu Na is artistry while Mao is acrobatic, each of them has their own winning streak-and I believe, equal in talent. True, there're times when Mao is under Yu Na's shadow, but her work ethic advanced her further. The record breaking 3A has been atributed to her, but Yu Na doesn't have to do it better to outbest her.
I, personaly, who doesnt know much about skating, prefer Yu Na's programs because it's eye pleasing, but other people might prefer to see Mao's various executions. So 'to each their own'.

have you notice that Mao have Midori Ito's costum on in this prog. you can see Midori 3:57 in the stand. they both have same coch Ms.yamada who i admire a lot.
It's amazing that her parents put her and her sister in figure skating to help them with ballet....to their surprise their daughters would become champions.
She is so talented, she rarely makes mistakes and i love how her arms flow. As you can tell she is so relaxed, she glides so smoothly, she has the highest jumps ive seen out of all the females and her laybacks are beautiful, it looks like Sasha is up against more competition in 2010 so she'd better work TWICE as hard to beat this amazing skater from winning the gold!!! :)
If she comes back she has a tough road. Sasha's artistry and flexibility are no longer exclusive to her. Mao, Yuna, Caroline, Mirai...the list goes on and on of girls who can match and surpass what Sasha's good points. Sasha would need a couple completely solid 3-3s and a perfectly flawless program to make it on top of the ladies field now. Not saying that she can't, but she's never done it before...
nagasu, zhang and asada are as good as cohen in artistry. so itll be fireworks on when all these ladies on ice... i cant wait to see them and enjoy their wonderful performance!

Wow! Amazing! She'd already had the beauty and elegance in her skating at the age of 14!! not to mention of the WOW s at her light and beautiful jumps. She was and is a genius. Wow.....I am very happy to be in this era of figure skating to be able to watch her skatung. Thank you, Mao.

In her first senior grand prix competition at China,she came in second to Irina Slutskaya and ahead of Shizuka Arakawa(eventual Olympic Gold Medalist)
at the TEB, Mao defeated Sasha Cohen(Olympic Silver Medalist) & Shizuka.
at the 2005 Senior Grand Prix Final, Mao defeated Irina Slutskaya(reigning 2005 World Champ & Olympic Bronze medalist at the 2006 Torino).
IMHO,Mao will go down as one of the greatest Lady Figure Skaters!

She is so talented, she rarely makes mistakes and i love how her arms flow. As you can tell she is so relaxed, she glides so smoothly, she has the highest jumps ive seen out of all the females and her laybacks are beautiful, it looks like Sasha is up against more competition in 2010 so she'd better work TWICE as hard to beat this amazing skater from winning the gold!!! :)

If she comes back she has a tough road. Sasha's artistry and flexibility are no longer exclusive to her. Mao, Yuna, Caroline, Mirai...the list goes on and on of girls who can match and surpass what Sasha's good points. Sasha would need a couple completely solid 3-3s and a perfectly flawless program to make it on top of the ladies field now. Not saying that she can't, but she's never done it before...
