thank you for your wonderful work sister. i am peruvian and live in NYC, when i go to Peru this year i will stop by to contribute to the cause. you guys are doing fantastic work
We just recently returned from Peru. While there we saw large outdoor advertising that said something to the effect of asking people NOT to give money to the child street buskers.
Can someone PLEASE post or send me a copy of the sign and or translate what it says.
ALSO.. if the tourists dont help the street kids who is? What support systems ARE in place please? Im intending to raise awareness of the childrens plight but I need more information. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers
great work, hope these kids are able to be functional members of society long-term, you guys have the right approach to a well-rounded rehabilitation. I know it's hard when there are larger structural changes needed in a country's economic/political institutions, but not being able to address these fully doesn't devalue the importance of your work in any way. My mom was a Lima street kid too. I finally get to visit Peru in a few months! It'd be nice to visit you guys rather than just be tourists
thanks for the positive comment Hellena44. Sorry to say though our project isn't operating at the moment. I can put you in touch with some of the care homes we've worked with though if you'd like. That way you'd still be able to visit some projects in a similar field, and, as you say, get away from just being a tourist. feel free to drop me an email and I'll send you some details.
Wow, this hurts to watch, I spent two weeks in lima on a missions tripand I'm just dying to go back.!
I tell people I left my heart on the streets of peru. I'm planing on spending 6 monthes to a year there after I graduate next year. I'm hoping to find a missonary family to stay with.
Hi, thanks for the comments...that's great you're planning on coming out here after you graduate. I know a missionary family I could put you in contact with if it would be helpful.

I just had the opportunity to spend some time with Amy. She is making a real difference with great kids in a tough situation. You are awesome Amy, I feel honored to hae met you!
Thank you so much for your kindness Kathy, the kids are all asking after you! I've promised to show them the photos on Monday and I'll send some to your email now. Keep in touch, Amy
Good video - Problems faced by mature street children leaving institutions are seldom addressed. I'd like to feature this on my streetkidworld channel - let me know if this is OK, please.
