For me bieng a full blood Italian Americano, My grand fathers and Uncles did the same, and sometimes the kiss on the cheek came with an italian slap on both sides of the cheek then the kiss. Italian Men and Italian Women are a very emotional people and we fully enjoy the italian life style. I would not have it anyother way. I have friends that live in the north and the south of italia. Italia is a great country and it has a wealh of diversity to offer the world. Because of the history of italy, peoples of the north and peoples of the south are different to some extent and that includes their traditions and means because of who rulled italy for years.

I'm italian, for us kissing on cheeck is the common greeting between people, even acquaintances.

The only exception is when people meet for the first time, so there's an hands shaking.
