  • @mikeyg17368 weird as hell im 13 to hahaha,

  • c'mon aggie get that thing up there!

  • Nice Catch, Next time better use motorized reel.

  • that rod has an ugly bend

  • got a 37" sittin stuffed on my wall right now

  • First this is in the Gulf Texas side. We are 45 natical miles offshore adn there is not much I can do about the wind.

The rod/reel? You use big gear if you plan to catch big fish!

Like-92lbsOr the 61lbs found in my "Photo Gallery" of my web site Blue Chip Charters.

You'll be wishin you had that rod/reel combo when these brutes come along.

  • @CaptnSea

I've fished by a naval tower just like that one, about 20 miles off of the Outer Banks. Eerily similar. Right down to the binging noise. The fish were in the 35 to 40 pound range. And yeah, they will definitely destroy tackle. This is the hardest fighting pound for pound fish I've ever caught. The cudas were biting as well. I always wanted to catch a large one. Had a huge one hooked, but he sliced through the 350lb line right at the boat.....Almost....

  • @CaptnSea Its way more fun to bring em up with a gag grouper rig, but id still rather be bringing the grouper though.

  • my sentiments with the rod thats why when you go out fishing on a charter bring your own rod n reels.these charter boats seems to have the worst gear for rentals and charge you and arm n leg for it and they don't maintain it... even on the west coast to the baja

  • went fishing for amberjack in this exact spot earlier this summer...easiest fish to hook, but certainly not the easiest to reel in for their size

  • if that's the deep horizon oil rig or even the gulf for that matter, my condolences go out to all of you.

  • small aj

  • much more fun with a lighter rod....

  • I was right there next to that tower its 15miles from the outer banks the beeping is the tower

  • what rod is that...?so weird...

  • it looks like a halibut rod. it pobably isnt though it has the long grip and shorter, thicker rod so its harder to bend making it less likely to snap when you hook "the big one"

  • is this in key west?

  • @wiggerdrex20 i went fishing for amberjack in key west last week, they are strong fish

  • wow... 1st cptn pull the boat away from the rig!!! 2nd get a bent butt rod!!! 3rd throw these little ones back!!!

  • hahha ur right but it seems very windy too kinda distracting tho but its just bad....idk bout the rod.. but yeah this charter seems like a joke and i think they put it back.

  • be happy that you didnt lost it with your fishing techniques! first punping and then rolling!

    but its a nice fish

  • Good job.

  • thats a nice fish
