The first anime isn't the original because it's not the original story so that makes Brotherhood the original story, because it follows the manga, but the fake FMA (first FMA) was a good series.

@MarioKing67 Geez. You don't have to call it the "fake FMA". The writers of Fullmetal Alchemist the anime were given creative liberty to make their own story line and ending because the manga hadn't gotten very far yet so they didn't want to wait for the ending and be forced to make filler episodes, much like Bleach and Naruto have has to do. And technically it is the "original FMA anime" because it CAME FIRST; it's not the "true" or "correct" anime, but it is the original anime.

@IzumisChild I call it the fake series because the plot had nothing to do with the manga and I already knew that it came out first I just don't like calling it the orginal story.

PS: Everything that you explained to me I already knew, except for why they didn't make the fillers, so now I know why they never made fillers.

Brotherhood is pretty epic, but I still prefer the first anime. It had a far superior reason for the creation of the homunculus, and they weren't throwing philosopher stones around like money like brotherhood. Then the atmosphere of the original was a lot darker and more depressing.
