FF13 Mission 64 Gestalt/Poison trick to kill Vercingetorix 5 stars in HD

I beat this thing today by sheer luck. I used Vanille as the lead, with Fang & Snow as support. Vanille's job was to poision, then heal, then buff. Fang and Snow's job was to punch it to death. When it grows 3 wings and start that crazy whirl wind move, QUICKLY SWITCH EVERYONE TO "TORTOISE." Vanille MUST have this ability in place, otherwise she will die, so she needs to have the sentinel role avaliable to her. I beat it in 11:21, got 5 stars, and the gold watch. Good luck fighting it everyone.

I was doing perfectly with my summon until he used wicked whirl and fucked my strategy, I lost.

Here is a little tip, when Vercingetorix is in impeneratuble aura, he heals 8 times everyonce ina a while he'll heal 9 times.

@FifaScythi Do you know where the archylette step northern plains is? Befor eyou enter mah'habra, there is the grey wolflike beast and a behemoth fighting. Since you can get a preemptive strike, staggger behemoth, and kill it quikly then focus on the other monster. With growth egg, you will get 13200 cp, and around 999,999 cp every hour or 70 mins

If you want to make this fight slightly easier - it's a good idea to let fang cast Slow on this guy - he'll stay out longer and will take longer to use any of his moves which means poison has more time work it's magic, and you can hit him for some more damage :)

@freshy115 Its a time limit before you are forced to make an attack. Obviously, to extend the time of the poison you hold off as long as you can before making your selection.

Brilliant tactic! Iv been trying to beat this mission. I have not completed the crystarium yet though.. Im having trouble farming CP as I cant down a Long Gui in 1 stagger with Vanilles death trick, it only does like 350,000 damage. Can you give me any tips that will make it 999,999 damage or better places to farm CP please?

@FifaScythi Shao Long Gui gives 120,000 CP, and he is not to hard to beat.

Well that method worked, but because of over excited-ness to the point i missed Paradim change a couple times, I actually almost lost since my summon wasn't able to reach 30, and poison wore off. But hey With a million health left I still beat him. So thanks for helping me come one step closer to the Plat

@AllaDevie1995 uhmm i tried a safer way. it takes longer but it definately works :)

have vanille fang and snow. give fang and snow their weakest weapons to increase the time

and for vanille giver her a lvl1 belladonna staff or maybe a second tier version. equip everyone with damage reducing accessores like witch's bracelets and black belts.

start with sab sab sen to poison it. then quickly switch to sen sen sen and use mediguard with vanille. as soon as it goes invinsible buff/heal and repeat.

@Bufurzone After the last boss battle it expands to Stage 10, which is the final one. It never expands again after that.

@Bufurzone No, once you beat the final boss, you'll respawn right in front of the boss, however your Crystarium has expanded to Stage 10. You can then fight the boss again as many times as you want, or use Portal's to go back to other locations, like Eden and Gran Pulse.

@KOTRobioto Same here. I'm pretty under-leveled,so much so that i can't even afford to attack. Putting poison is all i can do before I'm freaking bombarded like crazy by that son of a bitch. lol

I've only tried 2 times so far,but too tired to bother trying anymore for tonight. I got close on my second try. it takes getting used to,but it starts to feel easier the more you do it. I'm currently 11k Hp average with a 14k Hp max for like 1 character and 9k lowest. What stats you beat it with?

@BlueDragon507 it doesn't matter which tier but it's better if you have the belladonna wand or it's upgraded virsion because then debuffs always work on whatever your fighting

@Zer0pnp not really. it took me 110 hours to get that far but that was because i was going between Eden and Pulse and doing Titans Trials A LOT just for fun. without all the time i put into that it would have taken me about 90 hours.

so, you use the "up + X" combo? and then if you let the gauge drop, it will automatically use the same ability? is that right? or do you just wait until the last possible moment to press the button again?

@BenForgyLink2010 yeah, I wait till the gauge drops almost to the end, then I press up+X to use the chain cannons. Not sure what it would be for x-box. You have to manually input the up+x, because if you auto gestalt, the AI will likely pick something else and waste your points.
