One peice of advise for newbie healers. Let your group know your new at healing. So your group can get an experienced healer. If you notice they do an awesome job. Ask them for tips. You'd be surprised how many people will share their knowledge.

Load up 10 or 15 addons (thinking isn't even required anymore) and rock out! PvP?...Has any game ever needed to adjust the balance of classes more than, or as drastically as what Blizzard does...regularly? Their PvP is a mess needing constant major adjustments. Nerfed much? You go, Boss, go kick arena ass......

Defensive, shmoohansive. If you are leveling, then you should push for DPS. And if you are done leveling, then you should push for as better healing as it can be, because if healer has to defend him/herself in raids, then fuck that raid. There is no good reason to balance healing with dps for a healer. Because then he/she will suck at everything, like jack of all trades and master of none. Only loners and losers chose balancing, so they can do shit on their own, coz they don't fit in.

I had to quit this game because the PvP always pissed me off. It consists of warriors running in circles around you and Rogues stealthing 24/7. That's it. Though I didn't mind rogues. What I hated was a retarded warrior running 10 circles around me, then calling me a keyboard turner when I died(when I have never done that, I am though, really laggy without a Video card atm). Irritating. But I did like leveling and PVE for the most part.

Never really played WoW much, but Rift isn't better. It can be lots of fun until you hit level 50, then there's very little end-game content. It becomes a grind to get better equipment, so you can grind to get better equipment, so you can grind to get better equipment... well, you get the idea. After a week or two of being level 50, 90% of players will probably quit.
