Wow! I am a new(er) drummer. Been playing for 2 1/2 yrs inconsistently. That was too much to process. I definitely notice his freedom and he is very relaxed, yet focused when he plays. I have to reach the point when all limbs function as separate units. Thanx for the post

Every since Marvin and Noel left Fred and RFC, their music has never been the same and is more generic than ever. Not knockin' Clavin and whoever is lead guitar now, but Marv and Noel was the heartbeat of RFC.

I am sorry that Marv is no longer with Fred. No one can cut through those albums like Marv. He had the right edge to go with the group. Calv need to "Show Up" with John P. Kee again... In reference to fire, it's funny how they saw what looked like the Son of God with the three Hebrew Boys, and he hadn't manifested yet. It just let me know that He is with all of us in the midst of everything. Seasons change and God knows what He is doing! Sovereignty is just that! Praise Him!!

I love fred but I don't think he should have left marvin behind in my opinion marvin is a way better drummer than calvin rodgers(no disrespect to calvin)don't get me wrong calvin is a beast but I like marvin's style better.

Being a personal friend of both Marv and Calvin, I can say that they both bring different elements to the table...but the table that I'm speaking of is NOT Fred's table, it's GOD'S table. The Bible says do everything unto the Lord, so it really dosn't matter what people decide to do. God is responsible to make sure that His people are taken care of. Seasons change for EVERYONE...Fred, Marv, Cal, jehiel5, dentleyboy, and everyone. How you respond when your season changes is the true issue.

I am glad that Marv is exploring new horizons with his music. Calvin being with Fred now is just an indication that Marv has worked and was dedicated and it was time for him to move on, regardless of how it happened the truth is Marv is happy and focused on his life and music. Sometimes FIRE has to be put under us for us to move where we belong, think about it.

Actually, with Calvin Rodgers as the new MD, they sound pretty good, but one thing a can agree on is that RFC did had a very unique sound that could NEVER be replaced. Unfortunitly, Freds new cd now sounds like everybodys elses.

man fred did everyone in rfc wrong. everyone from tommie walker to noel hall. i love fred to death but he played the best musicians he ever had.

he wastn payn his people. and then he went to houston and let everyone who was loyal to hgimin detroit. i mean he left everyone wondering how they were gone eat and feed thier families. he pretty much left without a personal explanation to the people that held him down for years. i love fred to death, but he could've done his people better than what he did them.
