I remember watching Brian and Michael perform in Fagins nightclub Manchester in the late 70`s. Great atmosphere ,everyone joined in the chorus. We were on a football tour and had a great weekend.
my mum was very young lived next door to ls lowerie he used to do who portraits in charcoal theres probably a wall with my mum on it when she was a child lol
"you can stick your smoke and psychodelics..." excelllent, you tel em mate, and no they couldnt stop the record, and Im bloody glad they didnt, quality song, cheers lads!!!
I can remember my first teacher Miss O'Brien (RIP) get the class to sing this, 30+ five year olds trying to displace our Irish accents with genuinely Salford sounding 'alley-alley-ohs'
I live in the centre of Salford and like alot of places there does not seem to be the neighborly respect amongst people there once was.The flat cap has now changed to the 'hoodie'and the cobbled streets are now all tarmaced to make a better surface for the car thiefing scumbags racing around high on drugs... Still a beautiful song which brings back lots of fond memories to lots of people...
fantastic song
