Wow...I can't even begin to describe just how much the the redwall stories, and this video means to me. Before I found the Redwall cartoon series, I was litteraly lost in the search for who I am. Yet after seeeing Martin the warrior...I was trully inspired. I can confidently say that it has changed my life. I'm seventeen, and I don't care what people say about Redwall being some babyish cartoon for kids. This video made me cry like I haven't in a long time...got to love a good story. Awsome vid.

Don't worry about what anyone thinks of you for reading/watching Redwall. I read all the books I could find at my library in my early 30's...I'm 39 y/o now and want to re-read them all, + the ones I missed. I wish I'd always remembered when the animated series was showing on PBS so I could've seen it all. Also, two words...Watership Down. Read it at least three times since 6th grade and caught something different each time. Gotta read that one again.

Anyone who thinks Redwall is a babyish cartoon for kids obviously never read the books. The stories are so deep and moving at times, they're more for teens or adults, especially this story. The ending always makes me cry when I read it .Truly stories all ages can enjoy!

@MasterofPuppets343 Yes she was, several times actually. Though her full name is Laterose, with Rose being a sort of nickname.

Since the cartoons were produced in the exact way that Brian Jacques wanted them to be - otherwise there never would have been the cartoon in the first place - he avoided from deviating from the stories too much. Rose is the main female protagonist of Martin the Warrior. Both book and cartoon.

That's understandable. Especially considering that Mossflower was written before Martin the Warrior.

Brian Jacques did later try to explain deviations between Mossflower and Martin the Warrior by explaining that Martin was severely depressed by Rose's death and swore secrecy to protect Noonvale, personally I think it was just because he was heartbroken. But still it is a good reason for Martin never mentioning Rose in Mossflower.

I can indeed understand the confusion though.

@BrentHiltz was this series number 1 or something because the Redwall I remember was with Mathias and the snake was Asmodeus and it also had Martin the warrior in it, although he was just in a tapestry.

yeah, that is why it is called that. Grum took a sprig of a rose form Rose's grave and it grew in the gardens of redwall. It blooms late every summer so it is the late rose...kinda like martain and rose were united after all!

Omg this is such a good video and soo sad too. All the other Redwall books, good guys won with main characters still alive and living happily ever after, not this one. Its so sad, the symbolism in this book, Martin and Rose were already at Noonvale and could have lived out their lives together. But Martin had to seek revenge on Badrang and recover his sword and it cost him what he loved most. He then spent his remaining years in lonliness. I'd like to think when he died he wentback with Rose.
