  • love and devotion

  • And you know what?! Since 1986 this Music never stop!

  • Now I can see how things change for arts. This was rightfully a big hit back in the `80s. But it should be just a obscure experience nowadays.

  • @viniciusvideobox I disagree, but it's nice to see criticism on a Kraftwerk vid that isn't: "OMG Y0U GUY5 CALL TH!S SHIT MU5IC? TH3Y D0NT EVEN 51NG AND TH3я3's NOT GUITAяS!1!!1!!!"

  • Gracias a Kraftwerk descubri este tipo de musica alternativa cuando era joven...un mundo de sonidos armonicos y ritmicos

  • history !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was one of the first music vids I ever saw. That time being like 11 years of age it scared the hell out of me.

  • @mizquitl Good. Then its purpose was served.

  • Fantasztikus! A Kraftwerk egyik legjobb száma.

  • how do they make the voices?

  • syntisizers?!

  • how do i get a synthisezer to talk?

  • Vocoders?

  • They'd recently upgraded their studio with lots of digital equipment, including a sampler; they must have spent hundreds of hours squeezing the last drop out of it.

  • boing boom thasck / boing boom thasck / boing boom thasck / Absolutamente fantástico! Demais !!!

  • very good

  • tune!! well good. boing boom chuck!!

  • excelentes graficas y musica...kraftwerk es lo mejor, viva el techno pop

  • Kraftwerk ,is off da heezy fa sheezy

  • Для 1986 года графика очень высокого уровня.

  • these graphics r pretty good 4 1986 :)

  • @AxelDerRaven Fuck yeah, it look like four years the finish them.

  • @AxelDerRaven they cool, but have you seen space adessy 2001? made in the 60's... crazy graphics

  • @wallymeldrum oh lol amazing lol not music lol shutup lol no cgi in space oddysey lol way more advanced lol

  • @AxelDerRaven I'd say they are average.

  • @AxelDerRaven yeah, but its all about rendering times. Back in the day this probably took hundreds of hours for a computer to render, and with today's computers it would probably take minutes

  • @AxelDerRaven in 1986, these graphics were as cutting edge for the day as pixar is now. Electric cafe is a cool cd.

  • @AxelDerRaven After this video came out, some people criticized it for being "behind the times" claiming they were just catching up to CGI and compared it to Max Headroom, saying the CG that produced his image was far superior and came out already. 20 years later I find out that Max Headroom was not CG but in fact Matt Frewer himself wearing facial applications and a rubber "suit." So, yes, for that time, this was maybe not cutting edge, but it was certainly not pasé.

  • It's awesome!

It may be weird, even quite weird, but one thing is sure: this music is nothing like everything else in the music industry, this is definitely Kraftwerk :)

  • How is this weird you fucking moron?

  • Amazing!

Kraftwerk completely rule this genre. They are the creators, the innovators and legends of electronic synth/techno music!

Love the vocoders they use, especially in Die Roboter!

  • wicked song :) but the CGI net skeleton things

    creep me out :S

  • that's 1986(?)

  • what year is this from?????????

  • i think that tour de france soundtracks is also wonderful

  • MUITO DOIDO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Increible!!!, Karlos +34 699 819 736

  • This is freaking scary ..like many of their songs. Wonderful.

  • YEAH!! this one freaked me out the first time I saw it, projected on a big screen no less (in 1986 at a club called Numbers, kraftwerk influenced?] but I was drawn to it, I bought the cassette, now I have the CD, ever since then I wanted to see the video again

  • "for me this was the last great KW album. I think they broke up shortly after that."

Unfortunately they also made "Tour De France Soundtracks" in 2005/6, but yes - "Electric cafe" was, indeed, their last truly great work.

And the clip's brilliant. For me, at least.

  • so geil..kraftwerk ist deutsche musikgeschichte...

    radioaktivität ist genauso gut...

  • IMO, it was published in 1985.

  • I think I heard this whole album on tape back in 1986, my senior year in high school. It had some killer tunes on it, but I remember a different version of this, "Sex Object," and the title cut, "Electric Cafe."

  • It was actually two different songs. "Boing Boom Tschak" was actually a song all by itself, as was "Musique Non Stop." In between you had "Techno Pop" and I think "Sex Object" (or, as I like to call it, Arnold Schwarzenegger goes Disco).

for me this was the last great KW album. I think they broke up shortly after that.

  • Close. 'Sex Object' was on the B-side. The A-side was, as you pointed out, 'Boing Boom Tschak', 'Techno Pop' and 'Musique Non Stop', in that order. The B-side was 'Der Telefon Anruf', 'Sex Object' and 'Electric Cafe'. 'Boing Boom Tschak' was merged with 'Musique Non Stop' for the single and subsequent video.

Mike Myers of SNL used 'Electric Cafe' as a theme tune for one of his spoofs, "Sprockets".

I'll agree that this was the last great album.

  • Well it was also their last real album. Hard to count The Mix or the live album

  • and what about Tour de France Soundtracks? it is really good album, by the way
