By the way for maximum enchanting you must have bookshelves at enchantment table level and one above. And bookshelves is putted in circle like you had, only you had to put in corners too. So it looks like 2 high 5x5 square with enchantment table in the middle.

Batto, I think that bookshelves also work on diagonals to the Enchanting Table. You should take a look at that on the MC wiki.

@FlowerChildXL Also, my understanding of it is that the bookshelves only have an effect if on the same vertical level as the enchanting table OR one level above that. I don't think all the extra bookshelves you have above and below help out.

Battosay the enchantment algorithm looks for book shelves in a 3x3 area INCLUDING the corners. Hope thins helps.

And be careful with the timber mod. Don't use an axe on your wood "house" if you're not pressing continuously the "C" key, which allows you to disable the mod during that time.

You need to try the "Better Enchantment" mod, which allows you to choose what enchantment you want, Batto! ;)

It's an "abode" for your building, it is unclassified for size but still homely. It can be anything from a 'villa' (small house) to a 'mansion' (big house) to even 'castle'....all of which are abodes.

Also keep in mind Battosay that Wood takes less enchanments than stone, than iron than diamond than gold.

Gold can take the highest level enchantments.

Next time you want a level 50 enchanment try a diamond pick.

Also when you get mining charges it'll be easy to create a 3-by3 hole down the center of your building, just in case your OCD compelled you to renovate. ;)
