If I am not mistaken this is Shiekh Mustafa (RA) who was Qari Abdul Basit's senior and passed away before him.

if he didnt he was very lucky . due to the fact he stops in places he shouldnt which is not within the rules of recitation. secondly it break quite often is not a way used amongst the qurrah for the aforementioned
