And shades are just a polite way to not irritate others with one's aimlessly trembling eyes.

I saw the news report on this when it happened and yes, the reporter is a blind man, otherwise I doubt he would've kept the sunglasses on. This clip is also shown on TV shows where they show stupid things famous people do, and they could make a whole show about this guy.
So for disbelievers, although this isn't evidence, I can just try to convince you that yes, this reporter was blind.
