Michael Ignatieff is a fucking crook and a liar...
If he ever became prime minister he would jack the GST up to 15 percent from 13 percent and add a carbon tax on everything under the sun. Gas would never be below $1.50 a liter because of this guy.
What idiot would vote Liberal even after seeing what Liberal Dalton McFuckinLoser did to this province. A liberal is a tax, spend and scandal crook through and through. NEVER VOTE LIBERAL
We all know what Ignatieff is . . . nothing more than a complete lier, an American running for a Canadian political post ! and has absolutely no interest for Canadians but for his own. And as for the BLOC ! when will all Canadians finally wake up & lock these guys away for treason !
We all know what Ignatieff is . . . nothing more than a complete lier, an American running for a Canadian political post ! and has absolutely no interest for Canadians but for his own. And as for the BLOC ! when will all Canadians finally wake up & lock these guys away for treason !
All you twits do is split the vote & help Harper. We can't afford you. If libertarians had been in charge a few decades ago we would have no universal health care system. For me personally--I would literally have gone blind. I wouldn't have been able to pay for my care. You guys are as crazy as the Marxists. I'm voting Liberal to fight the dirty Tories--the greatest threat to Canada. Harper is deliberately bankrupting us. Maybe you're rich & don't need to worry. I'm not, so I'm voting Liberal.
@SnakesWithGuns My. So nasty. No the conservatives DID NOT "install" our health care system. Mike Pearson did. Before that, as every patriotic Canadian knows it was THE GREAT TOMMY DOUGLAS, CCF PREMIER OF SASKATCHEWAN who first brought in universal health care. Then Diefenbaker initiated a Royal Commission on universal hospitalization & then Pearson turned it into law. So it was 3 good men, a Tory, a Liberal & an NDPer, who got us our system. AND I'M RIGHT ABOUT HARPER. HE AIN'T NO DIEFENBAKER.
@SnakesWithGuns Listen man, sorry about the "twit" remark. I didn't mean to sound like that. That's not to say I don't completely disagree with libertarianism. I don't understand why YOU GUYS DON'T GET THAT HARPER WILL TURN CANADA INTO A POLICE STATE. He preaches small government--but he wants to pass draconian drug laws & build expensive new prisons for us to pay for. Not hospitals. Prisons. He's hiring 4000 new guards. I'm trying to reach across the nastiness here. I tell you, BEWARE HARPER.
@mightymissk yes your probably, right, harper does want to turn canada into a police state. i can really see that, thats what hes been working on these last few years. i really see how you would muster that up. fucking french syco
This is just great. Now we get to demonstrate through the power of networking technology just how infantile we can be. Yes folks, the Canadian government spends its time making ad after ad slamming a political opponent and member of the legislature. The other point: we're not even in an election yet. Go figure.
Nice video...until the end. Uh, just why exactly should we vote FOR The Libertarian Party? We really know NOTHING about you. Damn, you missed your chance to get my vote :( ...Well, gotta go, bye!
You puppets. Do you really believe that we can watch american tv, go to american businesses, and build our cities so similarly designed to them without being the tiniest way similar to them? You have got to be kidding me.
And the whole sponsorship scandal, STOP USING IT AS AN EXCUSE TO COVER UP HOW NAIVE YOU ARE $40 BILLION WILL NEVER GET BACK TO THE TAXPAYERS, and which party left us with three budget surpluses? the liberals, and which party has gotten us $60 billion in debt - THE CONSERVATIVES
sniperdude12a--uhhhh...where do I begin with your silly post? The liberals stole $40MILLON (not BILLION) my foolish friend. The sponsorship scandal damaged Canada's image in the world and cannot be forgotten. The party that destroyed health care by stealing the transfer payments to the provinces to generate a surplus? the liberals. The party that has demanded the Conservatives go into greater debt? The liberals. Sounds pretty convincing to me...
HA! This is the point i was trying to prove. You see the conservatives aren't about proving that they are the best choice for Canadians and why; they have to put down all the other parties and make us feel hopeless and 42% of the country doesn't even vote. And YOU, Mike pounce on simple spelling errors and spread propaganda about a damaged reputation and a broken health system. All the while encouraging cynicism instead of a modest yet noticeable sense of national pride.
Oh sniper! There you go again. The liberals also put down all parties and make us feel hopeless. Is your next post about your disgust with them? (If not, that would be, hypocrisy...right?) Propaganda about damaged reputation...is was damaged! Propaganda about a broken health system....it is broken! The cynicism is caused by a just visiting" opportunist who has been out of the country for 39 years and demands to be prime minister! Does his lust for power know no ends? Just wondering...
Okay, i know you're a pawn but seriously, the liberals haven't used an attack ad since Paul Martin (i miss that guy). Your arguement about our reputation and the health system sounds like a whining child. No health or justice system can ever be perfect, but it's obviously doing fine because your the only one complaining. And are you truly xenophobic to believe that it matters so much that he's been away for thirty-nine years? Or maybe you just realize that the conservatives have failed.
To the Liberal pawn...seriously let us take your points one-by-one...Paul Martin used attack ads and you miss him...says alot about you. I am the "only one" complaining about our health care system!?#*! (You are either a liar or not in tune with Cdn's.) I'll take a French, Danish, Dutch, etc. health care system over Canada's--check them out. It does matter that Iggy has not been here for 39 yrs--where is the continuity with the country? Where is the understanding? Let me know--educate me!
Oh, and one other thing sniper...let us remember that the Conservative ads are "fact" ads....nothing has been refuted by Iggy. Martin's "soldiers in the streets" ads were attack ads...Martin took credit for their but had to admit they were lies.
First thing's first, Paul Martin had the potential to be a great PM but he got so many knives in his back i'm surprised he can stand, i miss him because he didn't deserve what he got.
And do you really believe that Harper tax-cuts, credits, and other capitalist bills are the way to achieve the health systems they have over in Europe? All they do is encourage the ideal of every man for himself, and it should be obvious that's not the way to live.
Now i don't think that anyone can deny that the Europeans have it great over there, but how long do you think it took to get that way? In France people convinced the government to make changes and now they have the best health care in the world, and public universities.
But Stephen Harper would never listen to another Canadian, or tell another Canadian what he was thinking.
And you may be surprised to hear that i don't want another election, i want Harper to think just once about the people.
Cdn's for a long time did not realize the liberal sense of being, "entitled to their entitlements". The liberals took all they could (just look at the recent liberal corruption scandal).
Cdn's are proud to have Mr. Harper as PM. Someone undoing all that liberal damage done to Canada's international reputation during the liberal corruption. More and more Cdn's are, "Standing up for Canada!", rather than sitting down for liberals.
I really don't think you have any right to speak for all Canadians, the Quebecers hardly seem proud of Harper, or are you next going to say that they're not Canadians.
I said nothing about internal liberal party politics, simply that Martin would've been good had Canadians given him the chance.
If you really were the (wikipedia) expert you think you are you'd realize that you will always have to pay taxes because the government will always need money. And you're accusing me of drinking?
And one more thing, how can you possibly claim to know about Ignatieff's income taxes, are you watching him from the bushes? Reading his mail? You need to use sources other than wikipedia (known to be unreliable when it counts), and the propaganda site run by the conservatives known as Ignatieff.me.
Aand what do you have to say about the isotope shortage? Our declining environmental record? And of course who could forget when the natural resources minister forgot top secret documents at a CTV news station, and never once wondered what had happened to them. My question is how could you support a party who clearly supports incompetance, and couldn't care less about the future? Is Stephen Harper's disgusting arrogance now being seen as a virtue?
Isotope shortage--the result of 13 years of liberal mis-management. Declining environmental record--when Dion and the liberals broke their promise on Kyoto that was the lowest. Cdn's were ashamed they, "just didn't get it done". I am pleased about Harper building the future for all Cdns--not just corrupt liberals. Iggy is the most disgusting arrogant man in the world--and he admits it!
I never talked about Iggy's income tax--It was Martin's tax that YOU and I were talking about.
BTW--Iggy would not have paid Cdn Income Tax in Britian or the US--therefore, I appreciate your bringing this to light. We now know he was a non-contributor for 39 years.
You call the isotope shortage liberal mismanagement when Harper is the one who failed to prepare for the closing of Chalk river. There was nothing wrong with Dion's policies, least of all the carbon tax. And wait a minute you're calling Ignatieff arrogant? Do you pay any attention?
And once again you claim to know exactly what ignatieff's been doing while he's been away once again when you couldn't possibly know.
And what about swine flu, are you going to tell me Harper's prepared us?
Nothing wrong with Dion's policies; however, the environment does not care about policies--it cares about ACTIONS. As Iggy said, "he didn't get it done". Do you disagree with Iggy?
Iggy has called himself, "terribly arrogant". Do you disagree that he made that statement?
I know something of International Income Taxation laws and treaties. Iggy was NOT paying Cdn income tax while living abroad.
Yeah and what the hell has Harper done for the environment or climate change since he took office? Absolutely fuck nothing, besides set up some little research center in Alberta to study the long term possibility of carbon capture and storage, and technology which is really a Con scheme to funnel money from the rest of Canada into Alberta.
Mr. Harper has been trying to help the environment (after years of liberal lies and just, "not getting it done"). Unfortunately the lie-berals and NDP play political games in our minority parliament. Best to elect a Conservative majority next election! Who could argue...right?
Folks---look like I've shut sniperdude down! I always find that once lie-beral supporters are confronted with the facts they decide to take their toys from the playground and walk away in a huff! It is almost like lie-beral supporters feel a sense of ....entitlement...to not be challenged. Surprise, surprise. Oh well, sniper, hopefully you've learned something and will now start thinking about , "Standing up for Canada". (Brings a tear to my eye.)
No one is talking about the two reactors that the liberals set up in Caulkriver, the ones that still don't work after billions of dollars where spent on them. Just another liberal fuckup, there are so many of them we lost count.
I really don't think Canadian want Mr. Chretien back as prime minister so sorry Iggy you lose.
Justwant to have some fun with liberal/Iggy supporters? When talking to them, mention how Iggy has been out of the country 39 years. When they jump up and down and say, Its only been 34 years! ask them why they make a big deal out of the 5 years difference; yet, dont think the 34 years matters. (Be prepared for a lot of red faces, shouting and swearing when they realize youve outwitted them—not difficult, them being liberals!)
When Martin reflagged his ships to avoid paying Cdn income taxes (preferred to pay less tax to some foreign govt) that did him in for many Cdns. How much money did Cdns lose with Martins little scheme? $20milllion? $30million?
All socialists want to do is tax, tax, tax. They never met a tax they didnt hike! Dont you realize that eventually people give up working if they are taxed to death?
Oh, BTW Martins knives in his back are very similar to the knives he had for Chretien.
And what exactly is $30million to the $60billion we are in debt currently 0.05%, is that really relevant?
That's crap, the Europeans aren't taxed nearly as much as We or the Americans are, they just know where to spend that money. Their unemployment issues are tiny, they assist people to get back up on their feet, THEY HAVE UNLIMITED SICK DAYS, if anything they love to work more.
And it's unfortunate that two of the best PMs we ever had never got along. But irrelevant to this "conversation".
Of course, of course—a future PM refusing to pay Cdn income tax—how could anyone believe that was relevant? (Maybe he felt it was an, entitlement—good future liberal.)
Our current debt was driven by Iggys lust for power. Demanding more and more money be spent (typical liberal).
European tax rates? Why would you make such a ridiculous statement? Look in WikipediaNorway, Sweden, Holland.around 55% maximum rate.
Awaiting an apology.will you be big enough to give it?
Oh and sniperdude12a, you raised the internal liberal party politics regarding the knives in Martin's back. I respond. And now you say my statement is irrelevant.
HArper made comments such as "Canada is a Northern European welfare state in the worst sense of the term, and very proud of it", "if you're like all Americans, you know almost nothing except for your own country. Which makes you probably knowledgeable about one more country than most Canadians". What a great guy, who's really in touch with the people.
verstwo2--can you confirm? (After all, you are a liberal.) Rumour is that after this, "Iggy fumble" (as liberals are calling it) for demanding an election under the worst of times, that liberals are considering naming Dion as an interim leader and demanding Iggy step down. Have you heard this?
may I also remind you that this is an advertisement for the Libertarian party, not the new conservatives. Are you defending a Libertarian position or Harper's position, because although Harper has spoken like a Libertarian, he has acted like a half assed progressive.
I voted liberal until they stole Cdn's money and acted with that disgusting sense of entitlement! When will they pay back that $40million they stole from Cdn taxpayers? I continually ask liberals and they always start shouting....why?
All parties will say whatever they think will get them votes, they all lie. The liberals are just better at it because they have been in power longer. I don't want Bob Rae as finance minister, he fuck up Ontario really badly when he was Premire and of course NDP. They can switch back and forth, it makes no difference they are whatever is best at the time for them.
Politiians are worse than used car salesmen, they are all lairs and crooks, we pick the least worst from the lot, i.e. Harper.
Bob Rae didn't 'fuck up' Ontario, at least no where near as much as Harris did...I'd take Rae's crew over Harris' any day. Politicians are human beings and capable of making mistakes. The difference is Rae recognized he made some mistakes, Harris and his crew think they did everything right. Besides Rae would never become finance minister, McCallum is the finance critic. You know the former senior vice-president and chief economist of the Royal Bank of Canada. That's a 'real' economist.
I hear that Iggy is considering Rae as Finance Minister in a liberal gov't. My god! We must stop Iggy's lustful ambition--obviously, he doesn't understand Cdn values after being gone 38 years.
Harper is a Libertarian at heart, but he trys to look like a Liberal with stimulus, etc. I think Liberals do a better job at being Liberal. Economic stimulus is the antithesis of Libertarianism. So is public heathcare, public anything for that matter. Of course if he tried to privatize the entire public system he would loose the next election, so he doesn't. He puts on a happy face and pretends to love it. while he drains the system of revenue funds as an excuse to cut services. Seen it .
I know it doesn't matter what I say or do, you will always remain a liberal, so why bother. Some of us, like me, vote for the party that we think will do the best for the country at this time. I have voted liberal and conservative in the past. OK never NDP because I don't like socialism. Iggy is to the right enough to maybe be the leader of the conservatives but he has the party big wigs behind him to make him act like a NDPer. Even Jack went to a private hernia clinic, so it is all B.S..
sure because what you say or do doesn't change the fact on the ground. Nothing you can say will change Harpers record.
You've already said you would only vote reform/neo-conservative so don't pretend to be unbiased. IF your against any type of socialism then you are against, public healthcare, public police and firefighters, public schools, public roads. That's what socialism is.
I can't vote for a party who's entire platform consists of a noah's ark analogy as a reason to do nothing.
When Ignatieff stands taking questions, he has that smile like the joker on his face. It makes me think he is having way to much fun and he looks like a hollywood actor playing the part, not a PM in waiting.
Our prime Minister Harper may not be perfect but at least I think he is honest and the people know what to expect from him, unlike Iggy.
Iggy has Chretien's hand up his back pulling all his strings, we don't want a puppet leader, we want Harper.
We'll that's a lot of speculative evidence. But as I said it's your opinion and your welcome to it.
IT's my opinion that I've seen Harper in action for 4 years and I haven't seen a single positive thing from him. He hasn't done much, but what he has done I mostly disagree with. He doesn't seem to believe that government should help it's citizens or society generally.
I remember reading about Ignatieff when Chretien first brought him into the party. It was determind at that point theat he would be the new leader of the party. Somehow Dion slipped in by mistake.
Chretien made sure that didn't happen again, he didn't want Bob Rae to slip past Iggy, so he and his gang apponted Iggy so there would be no mistakes this time.
That is why I wont vote for him, he was not elected by the party, he is Chretien's puppet and he has that stupid grin all the time.
It's easy to be honest when you don't say or do much. He lied abut income trust taxation, he lied about deficit spending, he lied about reforming the Senate, he broke his own fixed election date law. He's cut spending in science and arts putting us in a much weaker position to compete globally. His only goal seem to be to destroy the federal government or at least weaken it. Like most Albertans, as many polls show, you are out of touch with the rest of the country.
I am the first one to admit that our Prime Minister has made a lot of mistakes. He was new and didn't have the spit and polish that expierence give you. My only point is that he is still a better choice than Iggy because of it. Iggy does not have the feel for the people, he is just to head up in the clouds for the common person. That video with him waving kisses to the crowds was enough for me. He thought he was the queen of Canada. No sorry but it is not time for another liberal government yet.
I don't think Harper has the 'feel' for the people either. At least not outside of Alberta. There are good reasons the reform and alliance didn't makes too many inroads into the rest of the country. They we way far too the right. The thing is my grandma still thinks they are the same PC party from before. That was brilliant strategy on Harper's part I must admit. But it will only take him so far.
Your going to judge a man based on one video clip? Do you think that's a fair chance?
How could anyone support a party that didn't even allow the grass roots to vote on who should be their leader?
Iggy is not a true Canadian, he is just in it for glory and power, he does not give a shit for the ordinary canadian. You saw him blowing kisses to his public, what the hell is he?
There is no way I could vote for the queen of Canada Ms. Ignatieff, what a phoney!!!
So what is your definition of a true Canadian? Someone who has never lived outside of Canada? Do you dismiss all immigrants for the same reason? Just as Harper refuses to stand up for Canadians abroad who aren't white? Intelligence and integrity are scary to you? Iggy never claimed to be 'queen' (whatever that's suppose to mean) but Harper surely acts as if he were king. You xenophobic, conservatives are so intellectual bankrupt it's nauseating. Debate ideas and stop the personal attacks.
I hope that this action on Iggy's part will back fire on your guys and the conservatives will win a majority. The country is just starting to come back and what do you idiots want to do, have another election, the forth in five years.
What the fuck is wrong with you are your stupid or just plain retarded.
I am a conservative and I don't find the Canadian conservative party conservative enough for me. All parties are to socialistic and whimps. It is time to stand on our own two feet.
conservative will never have a majority in Canada...not with these conservatives. Even real Tories (PC) don't like them. The economy is starting to come back, despite Harper. Harper triggered almost all of those elections, and the last one for no reason at all. Personal insults are the trademark of true conservative. As I said if Canada isn't conservative enough for you...move to Texas. Because it's about to become a lot more Liberal. Thanks to Harper's poor example.
HArper couldn't even get a majority with a weak Liberal opponent like Dion. Don't hold your breath for a majority. HArper has lost Quebec already and Iggy is very popular there.
LEave it to conservative to judge people on the way they look.
I was a card holder from the Reform Party, the only party I ever joined. Preston was my hero, a really great man.
Prime Minister Harper has made a lot of mistakes, but at least he is honest and doesn't steal for his party's gain, unlike the liberals and unfortunately Mulroney.
Ignatieff is to high and mighty for most Canadians and I really think most will not vote for him. Our Prime Minister has seen us through some tough times and we are doing OK now, the voters will support him.
"Ignatieff is to high and mighty for most Canadians and I really think most will not vote for him."
-well that's your opinion and your welcome to it. I think Harper is a mean spirited jerk and in fact most Canadians have never voted for him. the only reason he didn't get ejected last time was Dion's weakness as a leader. Only time will tell I suppose.
We would be doing much better if he had not cut the GST. As far as I can tell Harper has only made tough time worse then they needed to be.
My understanding is that most Canadians did not ever vote for Chretien either. Only Brian Mulroney (and maybe Diefenbaker) ever achieved over a 50% electorate win. Hope you next statement is a similar criticism about Chretien--anything else would be hypocrisy....right?
This is not a proportional democracy, it is a representative democracy. You need more then %50 of the seats, popular vote is not very relevant, except in this context. Harper has a minority, Chretien had a majority. plain and simple.
Pooor, pooor verstwo2--can't catch a break can you? You said, "and in fact most Canadians have never voted for him" (referring to Harper)--I reply the same is true for Chretien and you get soooooo angry!
You uhh, may want to put down that bottle, my friend--it is clouding your already poor debating skills! lolol
(I hear Iggy is now drinking after seeing those poll numbers!) lolol
Interesting comment verstwo2 that Dion was, a weak Liberal opponent". You didn't say that when he was leader on the lie-berals! Do I smell the taint of hypocrisy here? (Always so much fun poking at the silly arguments of the lie-berals!!!)
I just heard on the news the latest poll numbers. Liberals are 5 point below the conservatives and the most interesting is they just dropped 14 points in Quebec. The block is rebounding and it looks like both liberals and conservatives will not make any headway in that province.
Go ahead and say what ever about our Prime Minister but most people still think he is a better choice than Ingatieff. The liberals are making a big mistake forcing an election this fall.
Polls don't count for much, at least there's only one that counts ultimately. Lots can change during the course of an election. But honestly I can't blame the Liberals for wanting him gone. I haven't heard much positive about Harper in his 4 years in office. He's centralized power in the PMO...and acts like he's King of Canada. Not to mention I hate his cabinet of ex-Harrisites. Baird, Flarety, and Clemment Screwed Ontairo bad. But maybe that makes you happy?. to see other suffer.
Yes, Stalinism failed. But Stalinist is not Liberalism. Canada is a socialist country in comparison to the US. Trudeau, Pearson, Chretien...Canada is a Liberal country and proud of it. We are proud of our healthcare system, proud of our social safety net. Harper is not proud of his country and neither are you.
Cdn's are very ashamed of lie-beral corruption--they are not proud of it. Only N Korea and Cuba do not allow a private component to their health care like Canada. Cdn's are not proud to be in this company. Harper paid his taxes (unlike Paul Martin reflagging his ships to avoid taxes). Tell me, who do you think was prouder of his country? (Next post from verstwo2 should be very interesting everyone!)
you are full of shit. do you have any #s to back up your statements? I'm sure you don't. %87 of Canadians favour public healthcare which was brought in by Trudeau liberals. With the exception of John a Mcdonald, the most esteemed PMs have all been liberals (Laurier, King, Person, Trudeau, Chretien) and the most hated was a conservative (Bennett). Seeing as Libertarians are ideologically against taxes I don't see your point. Martian did nothing illegal. Harper thinks Canada is 2nd rate. Period.
My god--you are so wrong I (and many others on this post) are laughing at you!!! Martin did nothing illegal; but, was morally wrong....agreed? (Especially for someone who wants to be PM.) Mr. Corruption Chretien is "most esteemed"--by who's opinion? Harper knows Canada can be improved, lie-berals put $ in their pockets. Who could disagree? (Feeling a little sheepish right about now?)
Justice was served, you just like to be able to smear Liberals plain and simple. One scandal in 12+ years involving very few members of the party, doesn't make the entire party corrupt, and it is intellectually bankrupt to claim that it does. Liberals brought us 12 years of surplus. Harper has brought us in to a structural deficit in less then 4. He is the spitting image of Bush and he will screw our country just the same. And you will be cheering him on the whole time. You are a disgrace.
verstwo2, Liberals brought us 12 years of down loading to the provinces. That was the way Paul Martin balanced the books.
The provinces downloaded to the cities and the cities tax the shit out of us.
Prime Minister Harper brought us to a deficit, are you kidding, all the parties were after him to spend his way out of this recession. The liberals and NDP wanted him to spend even more than he did. You fucking liberal supporters are such a bunch of phoney lairs as well as crooks.
well, it balanced the books, which is much more then can be said for Harper the pseudo-economist who gave us a structural deficit (ie No plan to get out of deficit). Harper cut the GST to insure that those programs would never be 'uploaded' again. It also insured we were in a much weaker position to fight the recession. Harper has a bunch of Mike Harris cronies in his cabinet who left Ontario in ruins, with huge deficits, massive service cuts, and absolutely nothing to show for it.
verstwo2 is sounding more ridicious every minute! Mr. Harper has had a minority since he became PM; therefore, the lie-berals have supported him in these so called crimes of yours. Show us some class (absent from your responses so far) and tell us how disgusted you are with the lie-berals, since they supported all of these actions. (Everyone, watch a typical verstwo2 non-answer.) lolol
Harper has a minority therefore everything he does wrong is the oppositions fault and everything he does right is in spite of the opposition? I though conservative were all about taking responsibility for their own actions? I suppose those principle s don't suit you at the moment, so you've tossed them.
Man, I'm finished with you. At least justanoldman has some respect and decency. You're just full of insults and almost obviously in high school still.
Yes, yes--always the liberal way--run away, run away when you cannot defend your position. Good luck to you. Maybe some day you'll, "Stand up for Canada" (rather than sitting down for the liberal party).
The GST and Free Trade Agreement both brought in by Mulroney were major things in balancing the books. The Liberals were made to look good. Mulroney took the fall for them.
Compared to Harper...Mulroney is a Liberal. Harper comes from the reform party who were created to spite the PC, and ultimately destroyed them. Mulroney doesn't like Harper, and neither does Joe Clark. I don't mind Mulroney...he was a progressive (conservative).
pooor, pooor verstwo2--everyone ganging up on you, my sad friend? Lie-berals destroyed health care by pushing the deficit to the provinces. How many Cdns deaded for that action? In your eyes I may be a "disgrace"; but, sadly, I must tell you, "You are a lier". Proud of it? Just wondering....
"Liberals destroyed health care by pushing the deficit to the provinces."
-Liberals created the healthcare system. if weren't for them we'd be paying out he asses like the US does. plus, it's not destroyed, just underfunded. And Harper guaranteed it that funding isn't returning.
"How many Cdns deaded for that action? "
- I don't know what your even trying to say here.
I'm not a lair, but I am proud to be Canadian and a Liberal.
Poor verstwo2 the question is so simple. You really don't want to understand it, do you? Any honest answer would challenge your preconceived beliefs. With Paul Martin going to a private clinic, he really didn't care about public health care, did he? He certainly gutted it. You may be a proud (but certainly misguided) Canadian. "Proud as a liberal"--I'd set the bar higher if I were you.
hey look, Iggy doing a Dion and threatening an election! Will he put his tail between his legs and back away every time like Dion did? Afterall this Iggy guy is, "just visiting".
I get shit on every time I remove a comment or "appear" to be censoring this channel. This crap causes good videos to appear without the ability to post comments.
Posts like brazeau2009's comment about the Quebecois, I'd quote it but that would only breathe more life into the hate. There is no point in the comment at all, it doesn't refer to the video or the comment to which the user is replying. It's just hate, pure hate and I won't delete it so you can characterize me as the bad guy.
Ignatieff was probably ordered back to Canada by the Bilderberg to bring our already Socialist society under complete Fascist rule. He MUST NOT get into power in Canada or he will surely finish us off as a nation.
We need someone who can turn our Constitution back into what it was originally designed to be: A mechanism to protect Canadians (not the mechanism created by Trudeau to put the elitist Quebecois into every powerful position of this country).
Sorry sonny ... but the concept of Libertarianism may feel and sound all good ... but when looked at closely it is merely a concept to make you feel good about taking care of your own and not giving a rats ass about others. Key principle concept in Libertarianism is to not have a social safety net ... ie: give if you want to or don't if don't want to. So non Canadian.
So it's "Non Canadian" to expect people to look out for themselves, earn a living, make decisions for themselves or secure their own futures?
You must be a Liberal.
"not giving a rats [sic] about others"
Simply not the case my big government friend. You've just been taught that those that do not wish to work shouldn't. They should be guaranteed a level of income irregardless, greater than what's earned by over 3 Billion people worldwide
Libertarianism is about smaller government, much smaller.
Ignatieff is a "Dead Beat Dad"! Just check out our video for the proof. Canadian media are just ignoring it; have you ever heard 1 word about his kids or what kind of a parent he has been? Nope, that's not for the voters to know about. But we have it here on youtube, whether the media likes it or not.
well.... if the liberals can continue voting between greens, liberal party of Canada, NDP, Bloq and whoever else then I'm positively sure that Conservatives being the only conservative party in Canada will remain in power but most likely with a smaller mandate by the Canadian people.

And further to what I said . . .
Anyone who gets reeled in by these political videos utilizing the equivalent of prime time big network sports marketing techniques with regards to power music and voluptuous displays of colourful graphics and candor messages are also fools.
This stupid YouTube piece has the feel of of a goddamned roundtable intermission during an NFL football game hosted by a bunch of square-jawed jocks stuffed into Hugo Boss suits and making the most incredulous remarks.

This is a foolish video.
While exorbitant claim will surely draw in a lot of viewers the supporting evidence is not only weak, it is incorrect and of no consequence here.
I can assure you that Ignatieff, if compared to Chrétien, is degrees removed in intellectuality and, as such, would never allow himself to be commandeered into a puppet position for a retired politician.
Chrétien is without a doubt a past statesmen but your recipe here renders nothing else that we should suspect.

What an idiotic video. The fact that a former Prime Minister has an opinion on the election does not mean that anyone is beholden to him. This is just foolishness.

So does this mean Gretzky and Michael J. Fox should be attacked too? And hey, don't forget the late John Candy. He left Canada and made hollywood movies. Let't attack his family- you know- to send the right message to the kids
This guy's an arrogant asshole, what's his plan? Why is an even more arrogant asshole back in the limelight again, is he gonna run the show? At least he spent his life here. Just because he has Canadian citizenship but rarely lived here makes him a leader. Harper is not well liked apparently but he has kept his word and the country has been well run. We are not in a very bad state here as are most other country's

I don't think many Canadians would be on board with all libertarian views. Any overly polarized party alienates too many people.
I really don't see much hope from the Liberal party sadly. All they seem to be able to do is bash Stephen Harper and try to undermine the government. It would be nice if they could put forward constructive legislation or policy again someday.
Their biggest problem is they have no idea what to do so they vote for Conservative policy then criticize it. Why can't the Liberals ever come up with good policy and stick with it?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
dude, it was the liberals who patronated the constitution, it was the liberal who introduced the Charter of Rights, it was the Liberals who brought Gov't out of debt from a conservative government. and it's gonna repeat.
Trudeau introduced the debt. By the time it was racked up huge and Mulroney took over intrest was well into the teens. There was no way he could balance.
Liberals only balanced it at the push of Preston Manning and then did so on the backs of the provinces. Last year Harper wanted to stay in the black but was backed into a corner by the coup to going into deficit/
The only thing the charter is used for now is weakening anti-crime laws.

I'm not, so I'm voting Liberal.
mightymissk 1 year ago
@mightymissk your fucking worthless, the health care system of Canada was installed while we had a conservative government you fuckin idiot
SnakesWithGuns 11 months ago
HE AIN'T NO DIEFENBAKER.
mightymissk 11 months ago

And the whole sponsorship scandal, STOP USING IT AS AN EXCUSE TO COVER UP HOW NAIVE YOU ARE $40 BILLION WILL NEVER GET BACK TO THE TAXPAYERS, and which party left us with three budget surpluses? the liberals, and which party has gotten us $60 billion in debt - THE CONSERVATIVES
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
sniperdude12a--uhhhh...where do I begin with your silly post? The liberals stole $40MILLON (not BILLION) my foolish friend. The sponsorship scandal damaged Canada's image in the world and cannot be forgotten. The party that destroyed health care by stealing the transfer payments to the provinces to generate a surplus? the liberals. The party that has demanded the Conservatives go into greater debt? The liberals. Sounds pretty convincing to me...
mikefastener 2 years ago
sniperdude12a-hate the facts (when they contradict your silly lie-beral statements)? Just wondering....
mikefastener 2 years ago
All the while encouraging cynicism instead of a modest yet noticeable sense of national pride.
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
Just wondering...
mikefastener 2 years ago

I'll take a French, Danish, Dutch, etc. health care system over Canada's--check them out. It does matter that Iggy has not been here for 39 yrs--where is the continuity with the country? Where is the understanding? Let me know--educate me!
mikefastener 2 years ago
Oh, and one other thing sniper...let us remember that the Conservative ads are "fact" ads....nothing has been refuted by Iggy. Martin's "soldiers in the streets" ads were attack ads...Martin took credit for their but had to admit they were lies.
Any other questions????

sniperdude12a 2 years ago
First thing's first, Paul Martin had the potential to be a great PM but he got so many knives in his back i'm surprised he can stand, i miss him because he didn't deserve what he got.
And do you really believe that Harper tax-cuts, credits, and other capitalist bills are the way to achieve the health systems they have over in Europe? All they do is encourage the ideal of every man for himself, and it should be obvious that's not the way to live.
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
Now i don't think that anyone can deny that the Europeans have it great over there, but how long do you think it took to get that way? In France people convinced the government to make changes and now they have the best health care in the world, and public universities.
But Stephen Harper would never listen to another Canadian, or tell another Canadian what he was thinking.
And you may be surprised to hear that i don't want another election, i want Harper to think just once about the people.
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
Cdn's for a long time did not realize the liberal sense of being, "entitled to their entitlements". The liberals took all they could (just look at the recent liberal corruption scandal).
Cdn's are proud to have Mr. Harper as PM. Someone undoing all that liberal damage done to Canada's international reputation during the liberal corruption. More and more Cdn's are, "Standing up for Canada!", rather than sitting down for liberals.
Makes one proud, doesn't it?
mikefastener 2 years ago
I really don't think you have any right to speak for all Canadians, the Quebecers hardly seem proud of Harper, or are you next going to say that they're not Canadians.
I said nothing about internal liberal party politics, simply that Martin would've been good had Canadians given him the chance.
If you really were the (wikipedia) expert you think you are you'd realize that you will always have to pay taxes because the government will always need money. And you're accusing me of drinking?
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
And one more thing, how can you possibly claim to know about Ignatieff's income taxes, are you watching him from the bushes? Reading his mail? You need to use sources other than wikipedia (known to be unreliable when it counts), and the propaganda site run by the conservatives known as Ignatieff.me.
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
Aand what do you have to say about the isotope shortage? Our declining environmental record? And of course who could forget when the natural resources minister forgot top secret documents at a CTV news station, and never once wondered what had happened to them. My question is how could you support a party who clearly supports incompetance, and couldn't care less about the future? Is Stephen Harper's disgusting arrogance now being seen as a virtue?
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
Isotope shortage--the result of 13 years of liberal mis-management. Declining environmental record--when Dion and the liberals broke their promise on Kyoto that was the lowest. Cdn's were ashamed they, "just didn't get it done". I am pleased about Harper building the future for all Cdns--not just corrupt liberals. Iggy is the most disgusting arrogant man in the world--and he admits it!
Time for you to rethink your position...correct?
mikefastener 2 years ago
I never talked about Iggy's income tax--It was Martin's tax that YOU and I were talking about.
BTW--Iggy would not have paid Cdn Income Tax in Britian or the US--therefore, I appreciate your bringing this to light. We now know he was a non-contributor for 39 years.
mikefastener 2 years ago
Sniper...where are you coming from?
Quebecs not Cdn's? I never said that!
You started the talk about liberal internal party politics ...Knives in Martin's back.
You said taxes were considerably lower in Europe--not anything about always paying taxes.
Are you okay?
mikefastener 2 years ago
You call the isotope shortage liberal mismanagement when Harper is the one who failed to prepare for the closing of Chalk river. There was nothing wrong with Dion's policies, least of all the carbon tax. And wait a minute you're calling Ignatieff arrogant? Do you pay any attention?
And once again you claim to know exactly what ignatieff's been doing while he's been away once again when you couldn't possibly know.
And what about swine flu, are you going to tell me Harper's prepared us?
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
We'll have to disagree on the isotopes.
Feeling a little sheepish right about now sniper?
mikefastener 2 years ago
Yeah and what the hell has Harper done for the environment or climate change since he took office? Absolutely fuck nothing, besides set up some little research center in Alberta to study the long term possibility of carbon capture and storage, and technology which is really a Con scheme to funnel money from the rest of Canada into Alberta.
meerkat1954 2 years ago
Mr. Harper has been trying to help the environment (after years of liberal lies and just, "not getting it done"). Unfortunately the lie-berals and NDP play political games in our minority parliament. Best to elect a Conservative majority next election! Who could argue...right?
mikefastener 2 years ago
Folks---look like I've shut sniperdude down! I always find that once lie-beral supporters are confronted with the facts they decide to take their toys from the playground and walk away in a huff! It is almost like lie-beral supporters feel a sense of ....entitlement...to not be challenged. Surprise, surprise. Oh well, sniper, hopefully you've learned something and will now start thinking about , "Standing up for Canada". (Brings a tear to my eye.)
mikefastener 2 years ago
Well said mike.
No one is talking about the two reactors that the liberals set up in Caulkriver, the ones that still don't work after billions of dollars where spent on them. Just another liberal fuckup, there are so many of them we lost count.

Oh, BTW Martins knives in his back are very similar to the knives he had for Chretien.
mikefastener 2 years ago
And what exactly is $30million to the $60billion we are in debt currently 0.05%, is that really relevant?
That's crap, the Europeans aren't taxed nearly as much as We or the Americans are, they just know where to spend that money. Their unemployment issues are tiny, they assist people to get back up on their feet, THEY HAVE UNLIMITED SICK DAYS, if anything they love to work more.
And it's unfortunate that two of the best PMs we ever had never got along. But irrelevant to this "conversation".
sniperdude12a 2 years ago
Of course, of course—a future PM refusing to pay Cdn income tax—how could anyone believe that was relevant? (Maybe he felt it was an, entitlement—good future liberal.)
Our current debt was driven by Iggys lust for power. Demanding more and more money be spent (typical liberal).
European tax rates? Why would you make such a ridiculous statement? Look in WikipediaNorway, Sweden, Holland.around 55% maximum rate.
Awaiting an apology.will you be big enough to give it?
mikefastener 2 years ago
Oh and sniperdude12a, you raised the internal liberal party politics regarding the knives in Martin's back. I respond. And now you say my statement is irrelevant.
Have you (or are you) drinking?

Hey this is becoming a conservative site. Yes I remember Jack going to a private clinic for his hernia, what a two faced liar.
I don't think Michael Ignatieff understand the Canadian people, he was away just to long. He thought himself an American and perhaps he still does.
Yes, the liberals still owe us $40,000,000. from sponsergate and you notice that not one liberal MP has gone to jail for this.
I don't think the liberals have changed at all, they just are dieing to get into power again.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
HArper made comments such as "Canada is a Northern European welfare state in the worst sense of the term, and very proud of it", "if you're like all Americans, you know almost nothing except for your own country. Which makes you probably knowledgeable about one more country than most Canadians". What a great guy, who's really in touch with the people.
verstwo2 2 years ago
verstwo2--can you confirm? (After all, you are a liberal.) Rumour is that after this, "Iggy fumble" (as liberals are calling it) for demanding an election under the worst of times, that liberals are considering naming Dion as an interim leader and demanding Iggy step down. Have you heard this?
mikefastener 2 years ago
may I also remind you that this is an advertisement for the Libertarian party, not the new conservatives. Are you defending a Libertarian position or Harper's position, because although Harper has spoken like a Libertarian, he has acted like a half assed progressive.

Better to be a "half assed progressive" than the current, "full assed lie-berals"--correct? Who could agrue?

Sounds like verstwo2 is losing it, my friends!
mikefastener 2 years ago
All parties will say whatever they think will get them votes, they all lie. The liberals are just better at it because they have been in power longer. I don't want Bob Rae as finance minister, he fuck up Ontario really badly when he was Premire and of course NDP. They can switch back and forth, it makes no difference they are whatever is best at the time for them.
Politiians are worse than used car salesmen, they are all lairs and crooks, we pick the least worst from the lot, i.e. Harper.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
Bob Rae didn't 'fuck up' Ontario, at least no where near as much as Harris did...I'd take Rae's crew over Harris' any day. Politicians are human beings and capable of making mistakes. The difference is Rae recognized he made some mistakes, Harris and his crew think they did everything right. Besides Rae would never become finance minister, McCallum is the finance critic. You know the former senior vice-president and chief economist of the Royal Bank of Canada. That's a 'real' economist.
verstwo2 2 years ago
Uhhhhh....you may want to check the history books on Rae's legacy...it is not pretty!!!

Seen it .
verstwo2 2 years ago
I know it doesn't matter what I say or do, you will always remain a liberal, so why bother. Some of us, like me, vote for the party that we think will do the best for the country at this time. I have voted liberal and conservative in the past. OK never NDP because I don't like socialism. Iggy is to the right enough to maybe be the leader of the conservatives but he has the party big wigs behind him to make him act like a NDPer. Even Jack went to a private hernia clinic, so it is all B.S..
justanoldman1 2 years ago
sure because what you say or do doesn't change the fact on the ground.

Never forget that Jack and Olivia were in publically subsidized housing while homeless were dying on the streets of Toronto....how disgusting!!!!
mikefastener 2 years ago
This is my last post on this subject.
Iggy has Chretien's hand up his back pulling all his strings, we don't want a puppet leader, we want Harper.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
We'll that's a lot of speculative evidence. But as I said it's your opinion and your welcome to it.
IT's my opinion that I've seen Harper in action for 4 years and I haven't seen a single positive thing from him. He hasn't done much, but what he has done I mostly disagree with. He doesn't seem to believe that government should help it's citizens or society generally.
verstwo2 2 years ago
I remember reading about Ignatieff when Chretien first brought him into the party. It was determind at that point theat he would be the new leader of the party. Somehow Dion slipped in by mistake.
Chretien made sure that didn't happen again, he didn't want Bob Rae to slip past Iggy, so he and his gang apponted Iggy so there would be no mistakes this time.
That is why I wont vote for him, he was not elected by the party, he is Chretien's puppet and he has that stupid grin all the time.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
It's easy to be honest when you don't say or do much. He lied abut income trust taxation, he lied about deficit spending, he lied about reforming the Senate, he broke his own fixed election date law. He's cut spending in science and arts putting us in a much weaker position to compete globally. His only goal seem to be to destroy the federal government or at least weaken it. Like most Albertans, as many polls show, you are out of touch with the rest of the country.
verstwo2 2 years ago
I am the first one to admit that our Prime Minister has made a lot of mistakes. He was new and didn't have the spit and polish that expierence give you. My only point is that he is still a better choice than Iggy because of it. Iggy does not have the feel for the people, he is just to head up in the clouds for the common person. That video with him waving kisses to the crowds was enough for me. He thought he was the queen of Canada. No sorry but it is not time for another liberal government yet.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
I don't think Harper has the 'feel' for the people either. At least not outside of Alberta. There are good reasons the reform and alliance didn't makes too many inroads into the rest of the country. They we way far too the right. The thing is my grandma still thinks they are the same PC party from before. That was brilliant strategy on Harper's part I must admit. But it will only take him so far.
Your going to judge a man based on one video clip? Do you think that's a fair chance?
verstwo2 2 years ago
How could anyone support a party that didn't even allow the grass roots to vote on who should be their leader?
Iggy is not a true Canadian, he is just in it for glory and power, he does not give a shit for the ordinary canadian. You saw him blowing kisses to his public, what the hell is he?
There is no way I could vote for the queen of Canada Ms. Ignatieff, what a phoney!!!
justanoldman1 2 years ago
So what is your definition of a true Canadian? Someone who has never lived outside of Canada? Do you dismiss all immigrants for the same reason? Just as Harper refuses to stand up for Canadians abroad who aren't white? Intelligence and integrity are scary to you? Iggy never claimed to be 'queen' (whatever that's suppose to mean) but Harper surely acts as if he were king. You xenophobic, conservatives are so intellectual bankrupt it's nauseating. Debate ideas and stop the personal attacks.
verstwo2 2 years ago
I hope that this action on Iggy's part will back fire on your guys and the conservatives will win a majority. The country is just starting to come back and what do you idiots want to do, have another election, the forth in five years.
What the fuck is wrong with you are your stupid or just plain retarded.
I am a conservative and I don't find the Canadian conservative party conservative enough for me. All parties are to socialistic and whimps. It is time to stand on our own two feet.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
conservative will never have a majority in Canada...not with these conservatives. Thanks to Harper's poor example.
verstwo2 2 years ago
You liberals are all alike, think you know everything.
Well why should I move to Texas when Canada will become a lot more conservative once we get a majority.
Very few people will take a chance on an unknown like Iggy, plus he has that pompous high and mighty look about him that will turn off most people.
We don't want any more shawinigates and sponsership scandles and we know the liberals need money. The days of the brown envolopes are over in Canada.
Perhaps you should vote for Jack.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
HArper couldn't even get a majority with a weak Liberal opponent like Dion. Don't hold your breath for a majority. HArper has lost Quebec already and Iggy is very popular there.
LEave it to conservative to judge people on the way they look.
verstwo2 2 years ago
I was a card holder from the Reform Party, the only party I ever joined. Preston was my hero, a really great man.
Prime Minister Harper has made a lot of mistakes, but at least he is honest and doesn't steal for his party's gain, unlike the liberals and unfortunately Mulroney.
Ignatieff is to high and mighty for most Canadians and I really think most will not vote for him. Our Prime Minister has seen us through some tough times and we are doing OK now, the voters will support him.

As far as I can tell Harper has only made tough time worse then they needed to be.
verstwo2 2 years ago
My understanding is that most Canadians did not ever vote for Chretien either. Only Brian Mulroney (and maybe Diefenbaker) ever achieved over a 50% electorate win. Hope you next statement is a similar criticism about Chretien--anything else would be hypocrisy....right?
mikefastener 2 years ago
This is not a proportional democracy, it is a representative democracy. You need more then %50 of the seats, popular vote is not very relevant, except in this context. Harper has a minority, Chretien had a majority. plain and simple.
stay in school.
verstwo2 2 years ago
Pooor, pooor verstwo2--can't catch a break can you? You said, "and in fact most Canadians have never voted for him" (referring to Harper)--I reply the same is true for Chretien and you get soooooo angry!
You uhh, may want to put down that bottle, my friend--it is clouding your already poor debating skills! lolol
(I hear Iggy is now drinking after seeing those poll numbers!) lolol

Any other, "words of wisdom" you wish to bestow upon us oh mighty verstwo2?

Interesting comment verstwo2 that Dion was, a weak Liberal opponent". You didn't say that when he was leader on the lie-berals! Do I smell the taint of hypocrisy here? (Always so much fun poking at the silly arguments of the lie-berals!!!)
mikefastener 2 years ago
"You liberals are all alike, think you know everything."
-so tell me Mr humility...what don't you know?
verstwo2 2 years ago
I just heard on the news the latest poll numbers. Liberals are 5 point below the conservatives and the most interesting is they just dropped 14 points in Quebec. The block is rebounding and it looks like both liberals and conservatives will not make any headway in that province.
Go ahead and say what ever about our Prime Minister but most people still think he is a better choice than Ingatieff. The liberals are making a big mistake forcing an election this fall.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
Polls don't count for much, at least there's only one that counts ultimately. Lots can change during the course of an election. But honestly I can't blame the Liberals for wanting him gone. I haven't heard much positive about Harper in his 4 years in office. He's centralized power in the PMO...and acts like he's King of Canada. Not to mention I hate his cabinet of ex-Harrisites. Baird, Flarety, and Clemment Screwed Ontairo bad. But maybe that makes you happy?. to see other suffer.

Boo Canadian Libertarianism. Go back to Texas.
verstwo2 2 years ago
verstwo2...if Libertarians should go back to Texas....should left wingers go back to Russia? (Oh yeah, I forgot that socialist system failed.)
mikefastener 2 years ago
Yes, Stalinism failed. But Stalinist is not Liberalism. Canada is a socialist country in comparison to the US. Trudeau, Pearson, Chretien...Canada is a Liberal country and proud of it. We are proud of our healthcare system, proud of our social safety net. Harper is not proud of his country and neither are you.
verstwo2 2 years ago
Cdn's are very ashamed of lie-beral corruption--they are not proud of it. Only N Korea and Cuba do not allow a private component to their health care like Canada. Cdn's are not proud to be in this company. Harper paid his taxes (unlike Paul Martin reflagging his ships to avoid taxes). Tell me, who do you think was prouder of his country? (Next post from verstwo2 should be very interesting everyone!)
mikefastener 2 years ago
you are full of shit. do you have any #s to back up your statements? I'm sure you don't. %87 of Canadians favour public healthcare which was brought in by Trudeau liberals. With the exception of John a Mcdonald, the most esteemed PMs have all been liberals (Laurier, King, Person, Trudeau, Chretien) and the most hated was a conservative (Bennett). Seeing as Libertarians are ideologically against taxes I don't see your point. Martian did nothing illegal. Harper thinks Canada is 2nd rate. Period.
verstwo2 2 years ago
My god--you are so wrong I (and many others on this post) are laughing at you!!! Martin did nothing illegal; but, was morally wrong....agreed? (Especially for someone who wants to be PM.) Mr. Corruption Chretien is "most esteemed"--by who's opinion? Harper knows Canada can be improved, lie-berals put $ in their pockets. Who could disagree? (Feeling a little sheepish right about now?)
mikefastener 2 years ago
verstwo2--Tell me about your opinion of the lie-beral corruption inquiry we had a few years ago? (Watch, everyone--should be a good answer.)
mikefastener 2 years ago
Justice was served, you just like to be able to smear Liberals plain and simple. One scandal in 12+ years involving very few members of the party, doesn't make the entire party corrupt, and it is intellectually bankrupt to claim that it does. Liberals brought us 12 years of surplus. Harper has brought us in to a structural deficit in less then 4. He is the spitting image of Bush and he will screw our country just the same. And you will be cheering him on the whole time. You are a disgrace.
verstwo2 2 years ago
verstwo2, Liberals brought us 12 years of down loading to the provinces.
You fucking liberal supporters are such a bunch of phoney lairs as well as crooks.
justanoldman1 2 years ago
well, it balanced the books, which is much more then can be said for Harper the pseudo-economist who gave us a structural deficit (ie No plan to get out of deficit). Harper cut the GST to insure that those programs would never be 'uploaded' again. It also insured we were in a much weaker position to fight the recession. Harper has a bunch of Mike Harris cronies in his cabinet who left Ontario in ruins, with huge deficits, massive service cuts, and absolutely nothing to show for it.
verstwo2 2 years ago
verstwo2 is sounding more ridicious every minute! Mr. Harper has had a minority since he became PM; therefore, the lie-berals have supported him in these so called crimes of yours. Show us some class (absent from your responses so far) and tell us how disgusted you are with the lie-berals, since they supported all of these actions. (Everyone, watch a typical verstwo2 non-answer.) lolol
mikefastener 2 years ago
Harper has a minority therefore everything he does wrong is the oppositions fault and everything he does right is in spite of the opposition? I though conservative were all about taking responsibility for their own actions? I suppose those principle s don't suit you at the moment, so you've tossed them.
Man, I'm finished with you. At least justanoldman has some respect and decency. You're just full of insults and almost obviously in high school still.
verstwo2 2 years ago
Yes, yes--always the liberal way--run away, run away when you cannot defend your position. Good luck to you. Maybe some day you'll, "Stand up for Canada" (rather than sitting down for the liberal party).
mikefastener 2 years ago
The GST and Free Trade Agreement both brought in by Mulroney were major things in balancing the books. The Liberals were made to look good. Mulroney took the fall for them.
mrjerkoffthe3rd 2 years ago
Compared to Harper...Mulroney is a Liberal. Harper comes from the reform party who were created to spite the PC, and ultimately destroyed them. Mulroney doesn't like Harper, and neither does Joe Clark. I don't mind Mulroney...he was a progressive (conservative).
verstwo2 2 years ago
pooor, pooor verstwo2--everyone ganging up on you, my sad friend? Lie-berals destroyed health care by pushing the deficit to the provinces. How many Cdns deaded for that action? In your eyes I may be a "disgrace"; but, sadly, I must tell you, "You are a lier". Proud of it? Just wondering....
mikefastener 2 years ago
"everyone ganging up on you..? "
-yes, all two of you - woe is me.
I'm not a lair, but I am proud to be Canadian and a Liberal.
verstwo2 2 years ago
Poor verstwo2 the question is so simple. You really don't want to understand it, do you? Any honest answer would challenge your preconceived beliefs. With Paul Martin going to a private clinic, he really didn't care about public health care, did he? He certainly gutted it. You may be a proud (but certainly misguided) Canadian. "Proud as a liberal"--I'd set the bar higher if I were you.
mikefastener 2 years ago
hey look Canadian republican attack ads! Geuss you didn't mind Harper being a Bush puppet, or just a puppet in general really.

It's just hate, pure hate and I won't delete it so you can characterize me as the bad guy.
wpg420 2 years ago
Comments like those from bozo2009 don't deserve to be posted anywhere. You'll get more respect from intelligent readers if you delete racist garbage.
Would you rather the characterized as the bad guy or the one that allows a platform for racism?

Ignatieff was probably ordered back to Canada by the Bilderberg to bring our already Socialist society under complete Fascist rule. He MUST NOT get into power in Canada or he will surely finish us off as a nation.
We need someone who can turn our Constitution back into what it was originally designed to be: A mechanism to protect Canadians (not the mechanism created by Trudeau to put the elitist Quebecois into every powerful position of this country).
Libertarianism might just succeed.

VenaliaOfWoW 2 years ago

Anyone who gets reeled in by these political videos utilizing the equivalent of prime time big network sports marketing techniques with regards to power music and voluptuous displays of colourful graphics and candor messages are also fools.

Why can't the Liberals ever come up with good policy and stick with it?

dude, it was the liberals who patronated the constitution, it was the liberal who introduced the Charter of Rights, it was the Liberals who brought Gov't out of debt from a conservative government. and it's gonna repeat.
narutoxsociety 2 years ago
Trudeau introduced the debt. By the time it was racked up huge and Mulroney took over intrest was well into the teens. There was no way he could balance.
Liberals only balanced it at the push of Preston Manning and then did so on the backs of the provinces. Last year Harper wanted to stay in the black but was backed into a corner by the coup to going into deficit/
The only thing the charter is used for now is weakening anti-crime laws.
