I started cutting my hair last year 3 all around taper in the back . taper on the sides with side burns . first few times the taper didnt come out so good but practice does it (y) shit comes out hella spicy now. its not about what you use i started with straight Whals, senior clipper & AcTrimmer for the line up its come out tight. now im on to Andis getting mine in a min!

Andis Improved Masters are real good. I always keep a said of wahls designers in my drawer for when my masters get to hot. Osters 76 are good but you gotta tighten up and really be comfortable with yourself before you get those. believe it or not most barbers even the best of the best still use masters . Andis T outliners are great trimmers there are a lot of other great trimmers out there that people say are good but outliners are great and they are great for bald fades.

I cut myself with a number one guard every other day. I line up my sideburns and dome with safety razors (dont go for those curved burns they're just a pain you'll never get the shape right and it grows back quick)

get someone else to line up your back and around your ears.

then using the same level guard, cut your neck fade by pressing it hard into your neck area, the curve of your neck will create the fade basically

I have some Andis Fade Masters and they keep me in business..However I disagree with you on the Wahl...My Wahl Seniors have been serving me well I take real good care of my clippers as well..So maybe you had the wrong kind of Wahl Clippers...Get some "Wahl Seniors" And keep your Blades changed yearly...You will be straight...
