I think Helene Stanley may have been a last-minute cover-up of Disney using the live-action Cinderella as the model for the cartoon Cinderella- the NAACP was giving Disney their usual give-us-money-or-we-will-give-­you-trouble for using the live-action Cinderella, a black person, as the model for the cartoon Cinderella. And, some key people could not remember Helene Stanley.
