You're kidding right ? Games on the iPhone and iPod Touch run rings around anything I've seen for Symbian OS and especially Java ME.

BTW I do have an iPhone which is my current daily use phone. Plus I've got several Nokias including an N95, which are sitting here in the draw not used. And I do have to say that the iPhone is certainly the best mobile phone I've ever used. Also music and podcast support on the iPhone is miles ahead of anything else out there.

Also, Symbian OS is...not good. It is aesthetically VERY unpleasing. And aesthetics (also known as GUI) is very important, no matter what you say. And..I never liked it.

It depends on what you need in a phone, if you can't understand that then you are ignorant. Amongst my friendship group it's "cool" to hate the iphone, I find more people dislike it, usually because they can't afford it, when they can they buy it. Yes there are other phones, but what applications are being developed for them? Nothing... Whenever something becomes popular there will always be attention seekers parading around saying that it's crap. Well move along now, it's getting old.
