oh by the way I'm new to Djent...I started with this band Uneven Structure....their latest album simply rocks...if you havent heard of it yet..its kinda prog metal with an ambient touch...the instrumentals rock but the clean vocalist kinda lets you down but perhaps you can try it out...

I never heard of ambidjent before is it like symphonic, melodic, trash, blackened...? like is it a way to describe a genre like by example could there be ambidjent deathcore, or is it a genre on its own?

@hairynose656 awesome question man... Djent refers to a style within any given genre (7 or 8 string "djenting" sound.. groovy as fuck) and ambidjent is just ambient djent. But this can be in different genres like you said like deathcore or prog metal or whatever...

@kennyroy99999 "Djent," at its core, is a four-string power chord (before, mainly used by Meshuggah) consisting of a root, a fifth and the same an octave up. Misha Mansoor started writing progressive metal with the djenty chord in it, and so his style became widely known as "djent." Now, low-tuned guitars, grooves, string skipping, widdly-widdlies and a hell of a lot of mids make up what is now inevitably the "djent" djenre (lololololol). More in next comment!

@kennyroy99999 "Ambidjent" (coined by, I believe, Vildhjarta -- THALL) makes use of (generally) two rhythm guitars, bass, drums and a good amount of layers of clean (or distorted, but not as much) guitars. There's usually a ton of delays to give a huge, atmospheric sense. Ambient synths, electronica/glitch drums are also used a lot.

It IS a genre on its own. Whether people want to accept it or not, it IS a genre. But, the most familiar genre to which it can be compared is progressive metal.
