Founding members met in Virginia. Spent a lot of time in the Northeast (New York, Maine, New Hampshire) and eventually got their break while playing in North Carolina. Eventually relocated to Nashville where most of the recording has been done.

I would say they're from the United States of America. And then I would say they are from a place more awesome than most.
