man, I was with Ronnie when he made this track. in fact, i told him to add that thing at 1:06 which, in my humble opion, makes the track what it is That was ME. And i was only 4 years old at the time. --->Word.
ticky-tac ticky-tac ticky-tac ticky-tac. It's the high hat and strings, baby.
DJs with the original release could set the wax, go for a piss and nasal refreshment AND get a beer in to wash it all down before the having to even think about dropping the next tune. Classy and classic.
I had to comment about this track because for a long time I only it knew to hear. The theme that remains in my memory is the beautifully simple string progression.
There I've said my bit, forever etched on the Youtube upload. The drum patterns are quite nice as well come to think of it.
When the space/time continuum folds in on itself, this track will be playing and those of us left will be smiling and saying mmmhmm. Sweetest sound I ever heard.
it is techno if the first dj's that were playing it were techno dj's..we claimed it while you Chicage house cats were sleeping on what you had in ur own hood..=)..I'm just playing..who cares what genre you throw it into as long as you love listening to it no?!?
I remember seeing DJ CARL COX do a three deck mix with this tune at the second EMPIRE RAVE 1990 on bognor pier UK, most of the club was on strawberry blotters....Oh YeHH!!
I remember seeing Carl cox do a 3 deck mix with this tune at the second EMPIRE RAVE bognor pier UK 1990 Fuckin classic the whole club was on strawberry blotters... Oh YeSS!!
Kickdrum, hi-hat, bassline, handclaps, a little snare ... what else do you need? Oh yeah, maybe a few strings here and there. conradfritz, I reckon you're pretty near the mark with your call. Definitely one of the best EPs released by Cajual. Great post Cyparissos. Thanx.
This is damn near the best house track of all time in my opinion, I can remember this shit coming down hard and heavy at 500 West Cermak, the old spice factory in Chicago. I was 15... what was I doing there at that age?!? Oh yeah, I remember...
yes the original is 13.25 mins long,b side of the original is making love, and the afterlife which makes this possibly the most classic ep ever as all three tunes are ace. i heard this on fantasy fm in 1990,and promptly found one for 99 pence in a record shop in Leicester a week later, happy times! top tune STILL !

I was told Ron Trent was 15 when he made this. Urban legend? Still, one of the true classics of all time and still very playable!

Actually, he didn't make the track. Just heard it from Lil Louis last saturday.
kanervatie 2 years ago
Are you confusing this with French Kiss?
djJackMF 2 years ago
No, Lil Louis told, that Marshall Jefferson made this track to Ron, or actually it's more of a well kept (secre) rumour, but anyways.
kanervatie 2 years ago
Hmmm... I remember a few tracks Marshall made that others got credit for, but not this one. I'll have to ask Ron if he's heard about this rumor.
djJackMF 2 years ago
Ok, let me know what he thinks of it.
