These pasurams are part of the 4000 divya prabandham. They are in praise of Thirupathi Perumal. In each pasuram Kulasekhara alwar wishes he were born as something (a brid in the koneri, a plan or bush etc) on the hill thirumalai instead of what he was, a king, so that he can have the blessing of being on the hill where the Lord resides. Finally Alwar ends with saying that he wants to the the step that seperates the sanctum sanctorum so that he may have an uninterrupted darshan of Balaji.
Bhava-laden singing with superb shruti purity. Very moving and melodious to hear. This is the way viruttams must be sung. H.N. Bhaskar's accompaniment on violin is excellent also.
Love Ranjani Gayathri. Had the pleasure of listening to them live in Dallas and they are amazing. Definately the names to watch out for... And they are so pleasant and humble in their disposition on stage. Thanks for posting their MM concerts! What a treat!
Kudos to Carnaticopia: Thank you sir for doing such a great job to all of us here in the US uploading these masterpieces. It is really a boon for those who normally dont get to watch the Margazi festival. Thanks again.
Last year when we were in Chennai we had the pleasure of attending a day of the MM. Now from Us we were able to hear the same thro U tube. The performance of Ranjani+Gayathri's Nayaki keerthanai was superb. Best wishes to the UT
Thank you so much what a treat!! I was just discussing this yesterday with my aunt in Chennai and said I can watch only MM 2007 and I log in today to find the same concert from these awesome sisters!

H.N. Bhaskar's accompaniment is so perfect and tasteful. The sisters? Wow!
Its so rare in carnatic music to have such beautiful voices like these for some reason, and with such perfect shruti.
