Are David Boren and his moronic henchman Clarke Stroud so stupid that they don't know that the loud booming entertainment events they bring to campus are frying some of the hearing hair cells of the students and visitors?

Should people this stupid be alllowed to administer universities?

So if the noise is a problem for you...why do you live in Norman?? It's a college town...and OU was there loooong before you were there. And obviously it doesn't bother students if the students are the ones choosing to go there. There's nothing wrong with school comrodary. Also, if you are from Norman...more than likely you were Sooner born and Sooner bred. Move if you don't like the noise...easy solution...because the university isn't going anywhere.

OU was a reasonably quiet campus before the miscreants Boren and Stroud arrived and turned it into a constant party atmosphere for the mentally handicapped. if this is from april 2008, and there are chairs set up outside, with balloons, then this is 1 of 2 things. either this is the spring football game or it was one of the sooner saturday events that invites high school students and their families to OU. both of these take place on a SATURDAY. what's with your grudge and bitterness towards OU? if you don't like it so much, then as you say, why are you punishing your self by stepping on the campus... asshole

Students don't have to CONSTANTLY study. They can have fun every once in a while too. You seem to REALLY dislike Norman. Keep doing what ur doing I love ur videos especially the one with light pollution I hate that stuff its everywhere here in L.A California I bought a telecope and I cant see anything but planets and the moon. I hate loud noises too bleah stupid music too. Cant they use an ipod or something man no one wants hear that music what about students trying to concentrate. David Boren's main job as President of the university is to gain funds through his connections for the school, not really to change policies. That's why he has been great. Look at all of the new infrastructure around campus. These things far outweigh the many small things you may encounter.  Why don't you show all of the new buildings going up on campus?

You are ignorant. Like many other sheep, you've bought Boren's propaganda. Here are some facts: (1) most of Boren's new construction has been paid for by revenue bonds and student fee increases, (2) revenue bonds have to be paid back with interest, (3) under Boren, OU's bonded indebtedness has swollen to 100s of millions,(4)OU enrollment started declining in 2003, (5)OU enrollment costs are almost four times greater than they were when Boren arrived in 1994. Get out of Boren's dream world.

Events such as this are a rare occurrence at OU... maybe two or three times a semester. They are generally outside and provide no distraction for those in classrooms. The college experience is about so much more than simply reading and writing. Events such as this are necessary to provide for a complete learning environment.

Try reading a book in the library if the South Oval is too loud for you. I'm sure that it is very inconvenient for you since an event like this probably occurs 3 times over the course of an entire academic year. Here is another thought, if the campus is too loud for you, then go home (also known as NOT the OU-Norman campus)!

Noise-lover, it's obvious you haven't been inside the library for a long time. Ever since the turn of the century the serious quiet people who try to use that facility have suffered from cell phone nuisances, loud earphones, jerks who are audacious enough to blast noise directly from their computer speakers, and the crackling of cellophane from other jerks who like to crunch on their Doritos. Maybe you're one of the noise-making jerks in the library.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Turn that off!! As a parent, I went with my children when they were prospective students to many colleges. Not one presented itself this way. Is the University of Oklahoma serious??? Let's just throw the idea of academic learning to the wayside- all for the sake of having fun. There would be no way I would support sending my kids to a college that sounded like that.

I also have a video here showing the extremely loud fireworks show Boren had at commencement. It was like Baghdad during the "shock and awe" campaign. Another video shows one of the many meatheads who use cell phones in the library. OU deserves NO support until the Boren gang is totally removed. To answer your question, OU is not serious. It's a joke.

Are you serious lady? This happens at OU very infrequently. Just because they are playing music in the South Oval doesn't mean you kids not going to learn, because the fact of the matter is they will be listening to their ipod walking around anyway. If you won't send your kid to a school because they play music instead of walk around with their thumbs up their asses than good , keep your square ass family out of OU.
