Merry Christmas vs Happy Holidays

It is impossible for me to understand WHY people should not say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" on the federally recognized & observed holiday which has CHRISTMAS as its name.

The US SUPREME COURT has ruled it has become so commercial as to not be relegious so what's the issue? If you are offended by someone saying MERRY CHRISTMAS you are wrong for the above mentioned reasons. "MERRY CHRISTMAS" to ALL!

There is a common sense answer to this question. The answer is both. If you know someone is Christian, then it's okay to say Merry Christmas. If you don't know whether someone is Christian, then you say Happy Holidays. Would you indeed say Merry Christmas to a Muslim, a Jew or an atheist?

Im and athiest, but If someone said merry christmas i wouldnt be offended.. HOWEVER I would say "happy chanuka" just becuase christmad isnt th only holiday being celebrated and they are assumeing everyone is christian. Just to prove a poibnt thats what id sa.

I work at Walgreens and am glad that i am allowed to say 'Merry Christmas'. However, i won't be dumb about it. I'll make sure people wont get offended before i say it. I think thats the way it outta be: have freedoms but have a big enough brain to excersize common sense and treat people with respect about your freedoms.
