@youngsurvivor as far as i know, hair gets less curly as it is growing. curls will naturally "slow down" as it grows. you could use TRESemme shampoo and conditioner, they're very good. my boyfriend and i use it. he has straight hair, but mine is very curly. it works great for both of us. you should try it. also leave-in creams that dont have a very strong smell. curly hair needs lots of hydration. i have short curly hair and i'm letting it grow as well

@issy93bella58 -try rinsing ur hair with a moisturizing conditioner. dont towel try let it drip, put in a frizz ease and a moisture cream then let it air dry or diffuse. I have unruly curls, so i kno wut its like. but i dont shampoo my hair often only co-wash and i dont brush my hair. only detangle with a wide tooth comb or detangle with my fingers....good luck!
My curls are cut like that, but the issue is that when you look at it from the side it doesnt look so full like it once did. At first I thought it was my shampoo cuz they discontinued my favorite, but then I found a shampoo that did wonders for my curls too. That's when I found out that the cuts were bad... They were''nt giving me that all around full look. I have pictures of before and after... big downgrade. Too bad I dont remember what the cut I had was called.
Before they took it off the shelves in stores, then changed the formula and provided it online, I used sunsilk captivating curls. I loved that shampoo so much.
After trying too many shampoos, I came across pantene for curls. Wow, very nice shampoo too.
What i've noticed is that those shampoos that have that white, creamy like formula seem to better for my curls. Those with the clear formula are harsh on my hair.

that lady does way too much for her hair just to make it look like that, i just wash my hair, put leave in conditioner and some mousse and let it dry and it sets itself
@xlamprini Mine get really dry too. I have REALLY curly hair and it's long so, it's a hassle. Make sure you only wash your hair once a week to preserve natural oils and not over dry. If you use products like a moisturizer, put a bit more on your ends after styling, lean to the size, place your hands in claw shapes under your hair and move your hands so that your hair ends kinda twirl around your fingers. OR find a beautician with REALLY curly hair and ask her if its time to trim your ends.
i actually used that redken curls green product, and IT IS really great, it really works and it smells amazing, but is kind of pracey so now im using one by the body shop that is also reaaaally good, but redken is redken guys, you should really try that becouse it works so goood

@gricel84 She means to just skip the shampoo and just condition. You should try to just shampoo once or twice a week if you have really curly hair. Hope that helped! Have fun with the the curly hair!

I'm Nigerian, Italian, and Native American. I want something that will get my curls very curly, but when I use mousse or gel it just feels hard and crunchy and is a disaster to comb out. Any tips on a mousse, gel, leave in cream etc. that will get my curls soft and moveable?

@gymnasticgirl60 Have you tried Mixed Chicks hair care products or Komaza? Heard they were good, I'm gonna order them this Friday. Mousse make my hair crunchy too. So far I'm using Fructis wave define spray and it's not as hard.
@gymnasticgirl60 I have the same problem - I find that using a hair grease/balm on the hair along w/the hair gel (non-alcohol gel) softens it up but if I you use too much it will soften it too the point where your curls wont be defined anymore. I have a little movement when dry. I'm still searching for the "right" product but I'm doing this until I find the one. Hope this helps you.
@ibegabby36 She is saying to wash it with conditioner as opposed to Shampoo. The shampoo strips your hair damaging it for several days where if you shampoo once every two weeks while washing with conditioner every day you will notice your hair transform. Or maybe you are unable to do good.....
So, I am gonna try not washing my hair so often (as in every day) but I'm curious if a daily rinse and condition is suitable enough to 1. remove residual product from days worth of use, and 2. keep from getting smelly or ?? from daily workouts, which are not negotiable. Or what about a combo of the 2 things?? Sweaty nasty product buildup?? OMG, I don't think I will try this until I hear from someone else. Sounds like it could lead to a hot (stank) mess!!
@impendingrapture Try to find a conditioner with no silicone and use that as a co-wash (conditioner wash). I use the conditioner just like shampoo. Scrub and rinse your hair well and you wont have build up or a "stank mess" but you will have much softer curls! Trust me I used to shampoo my hair everyday and now that i wash it with conditioner my hair is less frizzy and much softer. good luck!

First of all I luv luv absolutely luv this girl! Maiysha is the greatest, hands down! She is a plus size model and a fabulous singer. And, to top it off she has the best curly hair styling tips on you tube. The Redken line is expensive, but "get what u pay for" realtalk! I like the fresh curls spring mousse for lazy curls coupled with the smooth down butter treat. They work amazing together. If ur a curly hair gyrl I dare you to try it. You will throw all of ur other products away.
Her tips work really well, but for the person that dosn't want to spend alot of money on hair products can get similar results by using some mousse and blowdrying upside down and side to side. It dosnt work for all curly hair types, so I recommend Maiysha's way!
@FuckYouPayMe143 I think each bottle of that Redken stuff is $16 each, but im not 100% sure. I recently found out about this stuff that works BETTER than mousse! Its called Tresemme Curl Care Defining Gel. I put alot of it when I get out of the shower and blowdry it on high heat, but low power. It works very well.

I used the redken anti-snap and the smooth down conditioner! it really did work for my curls :)

@Elgernon87 yeah it actually worked pretty well, it just all depends on the amount, as you probably know persian girls have thick thick hair so we have to put a lot in! lol. But just to let you know it gets most of the frizz out but not 100 percent of it! I wish it did though :( it could be my shampoo and conditioner I use aussie moist :)
@Elgernon87 but if you're on a budge the garnier fructis sleek and shine works as well it all just depends on how much product you put on, you know how most things say a quarter size amount...hahahah us persian girls need way more than that! and my hair is just passed my shoulder in length lol :)

I know it seems odd but I run a bit of body moisturizer through my hair after I wash it before I put on curl cream and it rids it of frizz :P

My curls are cut like that, but the issue is that when you look at it from the side it doesnt look so full like it once did. At first I thought it was my shampoo cuz they discontinued my favorite, but then I found a shampoo that did wonders for my curls too. That's when I found out that the cuts were bad... They were''nt giving me that all around full look. I have pictures of before and after... big downgrade. Too bad I dont remember what the cut I had was called.

Before they took it off the shelves in stores, then changed the formula and provided it online, I used sunsilk captivating curls. I loved that shampoo so much.
After trying too many shampoos, I came across pantene for curls. Wow, very nice shampoo too.
What i've noticed is that those shampoos that have that white, creamy like formula seem to better for my curls. Those with the clear formula are harsh on my hair.

@xlamprini Mine get really dry too. I have REALLY curly hair and it's long so, it's a hassle. Make sure you only wash your hair once a week to preserve natural oils and not over dry. If you use products like a moisturizer, put a bit more on your ends after styling, lean to the size, place your hands in claw shapes under your hair and move your hands so that your hair ends kinda twirl around your fingers. OR find a beautician with REALLY curly hair and ask her if its time to trim your ends.

i actually used that redken curls green product, and IT IS really great, it really works and it smells amazing, but is kind of pracey so now im using one by the body shop that is also reaaaally good, but redken is redken guys, you should really try that becouse it works so goood

when she said she does not wash her hair everyday does she mean she does not shampoo everyday but rather just condition and skip the shampoo or does she mean she does not actually get in the shower to clean her hair? @gricel84 She means to just skip the shampoo and just condition. You should try to just shampoo once or twice a week if you have really curly hair. Hope that helped! Have fun with the the curly hair!

I used to straighten my hair ALL THE TIME. people didn't even know I had curly hair! a few months back I started to embrace and appreciate my hair. I get compliments, and it's nice! however, even though it looks fine when I leave the house, it usually ends up a mess not too long later. @leopower7 actually curly hair is alot of fun to have, and it's really pretty, besides all types of hair are nice, with straight hair, to dont have to straighten it, wavey hair, you dont have to put waves in it, and curly hair, you dont have to curl it, so there is no reason to put someone down because you dont like curly hair ^_^

Anyway, I'm learning to love it :) I've been thinking for sooo long, but then decided not to straighten it up, coz... I just love the way it is. I'm Nigerian, Italian, and Native American. I want something that will get my curls very curly, but when I use mousse or gel it just feels hard and crunchy and is a disaster to comb out. Any tips on a mousse, gel, leave in cream etc. that will get my curls soft and moveable?

@gymnasticgirl60 I have the same problem - I find that using a hair grease/balm on the hair along w/the hair gel (non-alcohol gel) softens it up but if I you use too much it will soften it too the point where your curls wont be defined anymore. I have a little movement when dry. I'm still searching for the "right" product but I'm doing this until I find the one. Hope this helps you.

@ibegabby36 She is saying to wash it with conditioner as opposed to Shampoo. The shampoo strips your hair damaging it for several days where if you shampoo once every two weeks while washing with conditioner every day you will notice your hair transform. Or maybe you are unable to do good.....

So, I am gonna try not washing my hair so often (as in every day) but I'm curious if a daily rinse and condition is suitable enough to 1. remove residual product from days worth of use, and 2. keep from getting smelly or ?? from daily workouts, which are not negotiable. Or what about a combo of the 2 things?? Sweaty nasty product buildup?? OMG, I don't think I will try this until I hear from someone else. Sounds like it could lead to a hot (stank) mess!!

@impendingrapture Try to find a conditioner with no silicone and use that as a co-wash (conditioner wash). I use the conditioner just like shampoo. Scrub and rinse your hair well and you wont have build up or a "stank mess" but you will have much softer curls! Trust me I used to shampoo my hair everyday and now that i wash it with conditioner my hair is less frizzy and much softer. good luck!

First of all I luv luv absolutely luv this girl! Maiysha is the greatest, hands down! She is a plus size model and a fabulous singer. And, to top it off she has the best curly hair styling tips on you tube. The Redken line is expensive, but "get what u pay for" realtalk! I like the fresh curls spring mousse for lazy curls coupled with the smooth down butter treat. They work amazing together. If ur a curly hair gyrl I dare you to try it. You will throw all of ur other products away.

Her tips work really well, but for the person that dosn't want to spend alot of money on hair products can get similar results by using some mousse and blowdrying upside down and side to side. It dosnt work for all curly hair types, so I recommend Maiysha's way!

@FuckYouPayMe143 I think each bottle of that Redken stuff is $16 each, but im not 100% sure. I recently found out about this stuff that works BETTER than mousse! Its called Tresemme Curl Care Defining Gel. I put alot of it when I get out of the shower and blowdry it on high heat, but low power. It works very well.

I used the redken anti-snap and the smooth down conditioner! it really did work for my curls :)
btw I have 3a persian curls, that are frizzy and poofy and this really works, can't wait to try the fresh curls leave in conditioner :) Thanks so much!

@Elgernon87 yeah it actually worked pretty well, it just all depends on the amount, as you probably know persian girls have thick thick hair so we have to put a lot in! lol. But just to let you know it gets most of the frizz out but not 100 percent of it! I wish it did though :( it could be my shampoo and conditioner I use aussie moist :)
