Because he thought he would made his come-back in the best team that time, he made a good decision. But non the less Mercedes failed the last few years to gave him something he diserved. I was wondering what would have happened if they didn't kept him in Ferrari, a top team, for all those years and if his first cheat was not approved... Maybe much less titles. In 1994, the first season he became champion he won the first 2 races of the season, beating everyone, including Senna. His decission to try to knock off Villeneuve was stupid, I fully agree with that. Senna did a similar thing in Japan in 89 to Prost. Both Senna and Schumacher got their just penalties and didn't win the championship, so that's that.
Gilles was a real racer, who looked for thrills in the race, but REAL champions win championships.

Which we never saw unfortunately.

Also it can be said that Senna was succesfull before MS was around, so maybe MS would have beaten Senna if he had been racing against him in those seasons (like Prost for instance)

If they solved the reliability issues Ayrton certainly would've won it, but I think Michael would have given him a challenge. I don't think it would have been too dominant. Schumi won the title even though he was DSQ in 3/4, which shows how much better he was than Hill that year.

In that year, if he had been driving a Williams, in my opinion he would have been world champion, he would have beated the great Nigel Mansell.
Very sadly Schumacher will not be returning to F1 due to problems with his neck. Very disappointing. Luca Badoer will therefore be Massa's replacement.
