  • @DworfHunterInWoW Amazon(dot)c o m that's where I got mine from

  • PLEASE REPLY!!!!! Where did you buy the Ram STick... i need to know so i can upgrade this crappy computer

  • how do i find out what ram fits in my net book ?

i have a lenovo ideapad s10-3 but can't find what ram to use pls help

  • were did you by the ram

  • I would recommend to NOT replace and RAM or hardware while there is a CHARGED battery inside a laptop.

  • does upgrading the ram take windows XP off the netbook? will i need to re-install it?

  • No it will not remove anything, It will speed your comp up

  • nope

  • XP is on your hard drive, so you won't have to reinstall it.

As for upgrading the RAM be sure to-

    1. Remove the battery during the operation

    2. Touch a grounded object or get a static bracelet

  • nope not at all just remeber to turn off the computer and take off the battery then replace it

  • the dell takes DDR2 533MHz RAM, and I would recommend buying it from Crucial. Its cheap, and fast.

  • where did you order that from?

  • would this be able to play the sims 2 or 1???

  • Does anyone know exactly what type of ram the minin 9 takes?

  • dang is it that easy!?

  • Don't do it the way this ding-a-ling did it. The towel he worked on is not anti-static. Follow safe handling (anti-static) procedures whenever you upgrade RAM or do anything inside a computer. Wear a wrist strap, have an anti-static work area (metal or conductive mat) properly grounded.

  • Who bothers with anti-static stuff anymore? Honestly does anybody know ANYBODY that's damaged something with static?

  • Yes.

  • he didn't remove the battery either he could have caused a wicked short and bricked that whole machine. XD

  • is 2GB the max RAM? or we can use 4?

  • lol u could have damaged the system... u should have taken out the battery, then u press power button.

  • 2GB of RAM on a Netbook...beastly.

  • is this the same with the mini 12?

  • Mini 12 is the 12inch version

Also a few spec differences as well as the fact that the 12 does NOT have SSDs

  • I can't find a 4 gig stick so I can't verify your comment on only seeing 2 gig.

On Vista, I have loaded both and have found Windows XP to be much faster. I'm planning a follow-up post on my blog to show benchmarks for both.

  • LOL DELL TOLD ME YOU COULDN'T upgrade it. ahaha I knew they were fulla shit.

  • They say that to everyone on any system lol don't listen.

  • What type of Ram do I need for the Dell Mini 9?

  • Yes, you can use a 4 GB stick as well. The only thing is that Windows XP will only recognize up to 2 GB so unless you want to try and run Vista on your mini 9 (slow when I tried it), then your 4GB stick and cost will be kind of a waste.

  • false, the inpiron 9 motherboard will only see 2gb during the POST, no netbook can see 4gb on one dimm yet. no point anyway lol even with vista loaded

BTW vista on my 1000h is a lot faster than XP, dont say anything if you didn't try yourself, lots of false information on forums

  • vista is slower than a dead prehistoric turtle buried under a glacier in the antarctic.

  • Will the Mini 9 accept a 4GB RAM stick?
