  • This is some funny stuff!!!!!!

  • Oh god I can't stop laughing

  • Kayne ? didn't even know who King Crimson was ,it's not even their version I think it's Ozzy version ,he should his homework before releasing anything else

  • @mrbonzoorubber2 It's not Ozzy's version. King Crimson recorded 21st Century Schizoid Man in 1969. The song was written by Robert Fripp, Pete Sinfeild, and the other members of King Crimson.

  • @wentkat And the sampled vocals Kanye West used are Greg Lake's vocals. Greg Lake was the original vocalist and bass player for King Crimson.

  • @mrbonzoorubber2 -Ozzy? Ozzy never recorded this song! This is King Crimson! Of which Kanye West had to pay given that he used this sample without their permission.

  • the main point of Fripp, yes, but, the wording, no

  • Robert Fripp would never talk like that

  • Fuck it I Lied! Its Drum and Bass...

  • Cool. I am glad Kanye sampled my favorite band.

  • Is this a legit conversation that took place?

  • @elefantboys No, I made it up, hence the title "Possible" part in the title. The two did talk, or their people did, according to entries in Fripp's online diary at the time. :-)

  • This is brilliant!

  • Whoever put this together has both Fripp's and Kanye's speech patterns down. The robotic voices just make it even more funny.

  • lol!!!!

  • Power ruined schizoid man as well, worst sample ever...

  • Heard "Power", well most of it, or some of it on NPR today and wondered if and how West's label worked things out with EG or Fripp himself. Went a searching and found this. I'm glad to see both parties reached an amicable deal.

  • @HorizonEsp

    Ahh, OK, thanks!

  • Saw this linked on Progarchives, hilarious. "Don't tell my black friends", hahahahah

  • Fuckin hilarious

  • hahaha wow!

  • SMH at quote on quote music. power is music the song is very well structured with many things going on at once. its a complex record. kanye west says it took him around 5000 hours to complete the song.

  • @boibad12

heard the version aired on snl.

don't much like rap, [own 1 rap cd -pm dawn-] but liked it, felt its 'power'. some strong ideas, still the structure seemed pretty repetitive, [basic 'build, break it down, build, break it down' formula]

probably many of the 5000hrs involved making the crimson 'insertion' work out

wonder what percent fripp and crew ended up with. no doubt most kw fans didn't recognize the kc bit, only wondered where the odd sounding, brit accented, bit came from
