  • Great music man! just great....

  • Where did you find the sheet music for this? It's so beautiful.

Btw, this is one of my favorite videos because of the way the strings sound. lol

  • Very nice work.

I have a question. Im using LASS in Logic 9 and i want to draw in veloctiy fades for some violin parts but i don't know how to map the the velocity of the various patches in LASS to a controller on my keyboard ? any chance of you shedding some light on this or telling me what midi CC is linked to velocity so i can just draw it in in Logic ?

  • LASS hands down the best library out there but non the less you need a talented person like this joel guy to pull off such a beautiful score like that!

  • This is incredible, I love it. Awesome job. :)

  • Big Orchestra for me i love this music !

  • best lass demo i've ever heard. so damn realistic

  • Does this work on Windows 7 and FL Studio? I´m interested to know because I love to create orchestrated music and I´ve been looking for strings like this.

  • just love it .. very nice ..best wishes !!

  • witch program u use for string sample

  • LA Scoring strings rocks.

  • What is the most efficient way of applying velocity changes with the modulation wheel when working in your DAW? From what i understand, when recording to midi in a DAW the modulation wheel will not be "recorded".Do you just play back the midi tracks into audio tracks and then apply velocity modulations?

  • @BlackEyeDog012

Hey man. With LASS your DAW should definitely be picking up on the modulation midi, which controls the velocity. As far as being the most efficient way, I guess a lot of people have their own way (writing in the modulation with their DAW or recording it on the live.) I usually write the velocity with the mod wheel and then go back in and tweak it till I think it sits right. Hope that helps man.

  • @BlackEyeDog012

Sorry forgot to answer your main question clearly I think. The mod wheel should definitely be recording as you adjust your velocity parameters

  • Fantastic!! I'm waiting for my Komplete 7 boxset to arrive then its LASS in a few months

  • amazing music!!!!

  • finally some good composing... I like your story.. and how you added emotion, making sound more real.

    Keep it up.

  • your composition?

  • What are you using for velocity and/or expression control? I have East West and am really frustrated by how clunky the expression is.

    Great piece. Thanks a lot!

  • The register from G1 down through the Great Octave was balanced and sweet. But the 1st violins from C2 and up produce a grating sawtooth wave. Listening fatigue set in the moment it was introduced, and all the artificial reverb couldn't cover it. Maybe its YouTube upload resolution, or poor interconnects; I won't judge. But most likely the sample engineer didn't: 1. Use Goldstahl or aluminum wound E string for the most caressing tone; 2. Customize the EQ to remove the exaggerated overtones.

  • what are the plugins on the bottom and bottom right?

  • I'm seriously considering buying this... In the long run to use as a composing tool in my studio setup but initially to use some of the samples for live playing. I'll be carefully choosing 2GB worth to load into the flash RAM in a Motif. So my question is: In some of the online demos, I hear vibrato that comes in as the note is held... and I like this! Would I be right in assuming that this vibrato is an inherent part of each sample?

  • Is that a music you've composed yourself??? Because it's beautiful !

  • @JoelGoffin

    really beautiful music+

  • the goal of lass is pass from note to note not suddenly, it goes from one to another gently as the real thing

  • lass broke the barrier........every strings program jumps from note to note (cuts every note to note), but lass links them (legato, portamento) as the real strings. lass is the next thing, next step. No matter how beautiful is a strings program (like Hollywood) if it jumps from note to note. Itsnot realistic, not beautiful like the real thing. lassie I love you

  • where can I buy this software and how much does it cost?

  • @cobywatkins on the website its created by audio bros and it costs about $1000

  • Great strings i like it i think this is better then ewql but where can i find this vst to download it pleas tell me :D

  • This is an excellent piece, can you please tell us how did you use dynamics, are you controlling the volume of strings with faders or velocities, if velocities then how ?

    All the best

  • how do I use the dynamics? the sound is now strong when I play

    please answer!

  • please answer how do I play with the dynamics? sound when the dynamics is strong! please tell me!I use LA strings with Kontakt 4 (PC)

  • How much?

  • 0:35 GREAT high notes!!

  • Hollywood strings its better than?

  • does this work on pc? and if so does it come with the ability to score music already on the program?

  • @miclain1995 Yes it works on pc also, I will get this next week :)

  • @Lahtiman81 cool, tell me what you think when you get it, im looking for a really good program that has a scoring program built in.

  • Beautiful composition man ....I some how really cant manage to take out such a gr8 quality with la strings ....wat all did u use to enhance the quality ...??? Do check out my OST as well Dangerous Love ..!!

  • awesome

  • Well done. The reverb is really fantastic. I have LASS as well, and love it to death. The spiccatos especially. Perfect for those percussive runs. I also have Cinematic Strings, which I honestly prefer for a thicker, more epic sound. They're both great libraries. I can't understand why people just can't say that they're both good.... one always has to be better than the other.

    Well done on this track!

  • I lkike LASS, too. But I like Hollywood Strings from EastWestQuantumLeap.

  • thanks for this it's hard to find a simple demonstration of a piece of music written with these orchestra software I'm really looking to get LASS it's just a toss up between LASS and Hollywood strings and they both have their merits so it's a tough one, how is LASS with fast passages or 'runs' as they say at east west, the legato here is beautiful but i want to know i can do sharp and fast pieces that still sound organic

  • @HoobtheNoob I'd like to know this, as well. I'm curious as to whether or not LASS can pull off the fleeting, action 'slurred runs' and measured tremelo that HS can.

  • Can LASS do slurred runs?

  • Can LA Scoring strings do slurred runs? It seems to handle legato very well.

  • The 4 best quality products:

-EDIROL ORCHESTRAL [light orchestral software(computerized, and sometimes studio-recorded)]

-LA SCORING STRINGS [heavy orchestral software(all studio-recorded)

-PROJECTSAM SYMPHOBIA [heavy orchestral software(studio-recorded, and sometimes computerized)]

-EastWest HOLLYWOOD STRINGS [heavier orchestral software than LA or SYMPHOBIA (ALL studio recorded)

THEY ARE THE BEST QUALITY PRODUCTS THAT BUYERS CAN BUY!

  • f-in beautifull man :)

  • Beautiful Work! Good taste and sensibility! Congratulations!

  • Nice music. The lexicon sounds great. What reverb setting are you using? And what is the plug-in at the bottom right screen?

  • Hi, Kevin.

Thanks for the note. Yeah the lexicon reverb makes a world of difference.. a much warmer and controlled reverb than delay designers, etc. The plug-in at the bottom right of the screen is a visualizer from "Nugen." They've got some amazing plugs in there bundle package. Their "stereoizer" and "stereoplacer" are some pretty amazing plug-ins as well. Cheers my friend.

    joel

  • a fellow logic and apple user :) good one! its the only way to go

  • Agreed:)

  • @JoelGoffin First off: sounds good, nice work.

Then, regarding the apple-talk, if it's not Mac Pro, it bites. Seriously, my iMac's graphics card stopped working after 1.5 years. It just stopped being recognized. GFX0: Could not match specific family.

I like the OS, I hate the hardware. Never buying apple again.

  • @SuperPawuk Dude your fucked up badly! You have an obsession with Hollywood Strings! You post shitty messages on Cinematic Strings and LASS and you offend people without a reason! You should suck a cock, you seem to need it! Your human value is clearly much cheaper than LASS or CS!Stop your Hollywood Strings shit and jump off a cliff! You don't even have Hollywood Strings, so don't be a frustrated gay fart, and get a fucking life! From Romania, i say to you: Suck my mf dick bitch!:)))Crazy fool

  • @SuperPawuk Cheap gay talk! You're momma is dead, i'm pissing over her, you're watching, isn't is funny?

  • im not a fan of la strings .... the lead is too bright , doesnt sound real. there are much better string softwares out there.

  • Hi super.....,

Thanks for the note. Which string software do you like the best?

    cheers,

  • @JoelGoffin hey, to be honest its not been released yet. Hollywood strings are the best i have heard so far. cinematic strings and la strings dont quite come up to this bad boys sonic ability.

  • @SuperPawuk Hollywood strings is beyond good . . . its amazing.

  • @SuperPawuk Like what ?
