@NazcarFanatic24 They are not interested in the money, any amount of money. They want to be remembered how they were in the '70's, and the excitement of the times. Having seen them in concert in 1977 in sydney I agree. I don't believe they can ever recapture that special time when they were in their '20's. Unfortunately it will never happen.

@Ameh1 Your expressive language of beautiful people is vulgar, demeaning, disrespectful to Agnetha, her husband and children and ABBA. But you wouldn't know that because of your expressive mentality. Bring it on bro!!!
This is ABBA at thier absolute best, performing what is arguably thier greatest hit at what may have been the greatest concert of thier career. When I 1st saw this, I was spellbound. During their Australian tour in '77, they dominated that country like no other band ever has before or since, and seeing this clip it is not hard to see why :)
They had it all: Talent, stage presence, originality. And what have I got? Just a few selfmade music-videos. And all recorded and filmed completely in my basement (even the clip, that takes place on a beach with the beauties and the cool guy). Impossible? Not for me. There´s only one thing left to say.:I did it with more passion than talent. But you will see, if you check it out on my channel. Ay, caramba!

What I like most about this clip is that it really illustrates just how big a sensation ABBA was during that era. They truly are 1 of the greatest bands of all time. The funny thing is, the older I get, the more I appreciate thier music :)
heavenly. if only they would come together once more. I was just a baby when they performed. I would pay anything to see them perform. Do not care one bit that they are older.
We have come a long way since the days of the people named "ABBA" or in modern language "01000001010000100100001001000001".

Hello, Oh great i love Abba. Specially at 1.12 Agnetha look Frida and 1;16 it's frida. And so the kid is dancing at 1.29, very cute :-) Thank you for your upload
frida is nice yes but the camera is ALWAYS on aggie in performances back in the day it was aggie that was made a sex "icon" not frida. remember this. they both have tremendous voices though.
Im not saying anything against this band and my critic is probably just a thing of the 80's^^ but why the FUCK does this dude has a guitar around his neck which he never uses? and dont tell me it's just this song, it ISNT!
@THug0001 For a start this is not a "thing of the 80's" it was filmed in 1977. Having a full band on stage you don't always have to be playing the guitar, and he does from time to time play it.

Abba were real singers not like now a days when singers voices are monitored and played with to make them sound good . . . Abba were natural and original! Abba forever!
To see the audience so enthusiastic when they hear the first bars of the song is just amazing. I've been to concerts today where half of the people around didn't even bother to dance with the music. I wish I could be older so I could have experienced this.
This great band was the headline act in 76" when I was stationed in Spain. They followed acts like Black Sabbath, Status Quo an Golden Earring an the guys I went with wanted to leave but it was mobbed an we just stayed. Boy, they were glad they did! They were great musicians playing great music. That show was a memory I have cherished all these years. Like my main man Billy Joel says,"It's still rock n' roll to me!"
How wonderful. I saw the ABBA movie this comes from once Netflix began streaming it online. As for the sound quality, bear in mind ABBA had complete control over the movie and (given Bjorn's perfectionism) must have extensively reworked all the audio back home before releasing it, but it does retain enough of a live feel to really hit home.
Sadly, in the whole two-hour movie of ABBA's crazed tour down under, this is one of the few full songs included - most others are just nice tidbits.
@ablaysamot You are true about the snippets, though I'm pretty sure the whole concert was taped (like the 1979 tour) and I wish it was released in full, instead of snippets in the movie, because I think I prefer this tour to the other one, better song choice IMO
This is why I have a deep passion for oldies. All artists know how to use their natural voice without any of the auto-tuning and studio editing. It's beautiful. More than half of today's artists sound like sh*t when they perform live.
Praise Elvis, the Beatles, Elton John, the Carpenters, ANY Motown artist, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Billy Joel, to name a few, all you want, BUT, TO ME, NONE OF THEM, moved me like ABBA!
As a previous poster stated, this was recorded live in the 70's without the benefit of sound enhancements like Justin Timberlake, Brittany Spears, and the rest of these "disposable musicians" use today.
Like Karen Carpenter, there voices were their TRUE TALENT, period. With incredible song writing, they are legends.
Those were the times when people actually used to sing on stage and not just open their mouth. This was absolutely an extraordinary live performance from one of the most popular bands in history. Agnetha and Frida had not only looks, but amazing voices as well.
@edvard19 Totally agree this is an amazing performance, and clearly Abba put on an outstanding show, but would remind that many videos feature them lip-syncing to studio tracks in "live" settings. Not singling them out, just the standard back then, especially for TV appearances. Only in the post-Milli Vanilli and " MTV unplugged" era are we as allergic to lip-sync.
Only to put things right here. ABBA always wanted the prefect sound to any performance, live or not.
To ensure base quality when not the whole band/orchestra where on place playback were next best thing.
Still, if you are unsure about live singing or not you can go by the simple rule: sounds great = playback ...sounds like the best i have ever heard = live!
One thing I noticed in this video. Notice how Agnetha sings AND dances in this video?
Most broads these days can't do both, thus lip synching. Not Agnetha. Even Frida can barely move while singing, but Agnetha dances around like a ballerina.
Thankfully, the camera man shows Agnetha 3/4 of the time in this video.
@SuperDrJeckyl Are you kidding me....Frida is always the one dancing in performances....now I know you are delusional. Half the time Aggie just stands in one spot, with that same clueless expression on her face lolol
@dutico Frida dances, but never while singing. Speaking of Frida dancing, what kind of ridiculous dance was that so called dance in the "Gimme Gimme Gimme" form Wembley video? She looks like a chicken with asthma flopping around on that one. Agnetha is the dancer of the group, always swaying those child bearing, perfect hips, twirling like a seasoned ballerina. Agnetha inspired the guy in the "Saturday Night Fever" movie after seeing her dance moves. Plus, Agnetha sings AND dances!!
It's funny, Bjorn at the beginning is trying to whip up the crowd. But, you know, everyone is just saying, "Shut up and get out of the way, monkey boy. We came to stare at Agnetha a couple of hours, not you. Bring on Agnetha and just play your guitar and get out of her way."
@SuperDrJeckyl riek that Aggie omitts at 3:45 just so she could be heard because Frida was outsinging her live...like usual. She sounded like a sqauking pigeon to put it kindly.
@dutico Oh, no you didn't!!!! Surely you didn't call The Voice of ABBA a "squawking pigeon"? That was my angel Agnetha putting extra oomph, extra emotion into that song, singing her lovely blonde heart out while Frida is doing her usual solid job. That was my doll showing off right there. Poor Frida thought she was the voice, but my darling Agnetha just said, "Oh, yeah!, listen to this, Frida." and just turns it up a notch, leaving Frida choking in the dust. Game, set, match to Agnetha.

ABBA.. I love you.....forever.

Amazing band!!!!

Those were the times when people actually used to sing on stage and not just open their mouth. This was absolutely an extraordinary live performance from one of the most popular bands in history. Agnetha and Frida had not only looks, but amazing voices as well.

@edvard1970 im pretty sure they still do that. its called broadway.

@skeetcouper

@skeetcouper partly due to Musicians Union rules in the old days I believe

One thing I noticed in this video. Notice how Agnetha sings AND dances in this video?
Most broads these days can't do both, thus lip synching. Not Agnetha. Even Frida can barely move while singing, but Agnetha dances around like a ballerina.
Thankfully, the camera man shows Agnetha 3/4 of the time in this video.
SuperDrJeckyl 1 year ago
@SuperDrJeckyl Are you kidding me....Frida is always the one dancing in performances....now I know you are delusional. Half the time Aggie just stands in one spot, with that same clueless expression on her face lolol
dutico 1 year ago

SuperDrJeckyl 1 year ago
@SuperDrJeckyl riek that Aggie omitts at 3:45 just so she could be heard because Frida was outsinging her live...like usual. She sounded like a sqauking pigeon to put it kindly.
dutico 1 year ago
@dutico Oh, no you didn't!!!! Surely you didn't call The Voice of ABBA a "squawking pigeon"? That was my angel Agnetha putting extra oomph, extra emotion into that song, singing her lovely blonde heart out while Frida is doing her usual solid job. That was my doll showing off right there. Poor Frida thought she was the voice, but my darling Agnetha just said, "Oh, yeah!, listen to this, Frida." and just turns it up a notch, leaving Frida choking in the dust. Game, set, match to Agnetha.
