I fell in love w/ Ali Farka Toure's music 10 years ago when I saw the French documentary 'Ca Coule de Source' on World Link. My favorite part of the film was 'Ai Du' and the ending set by Tinariwen.

My favorite music from Africa remains Ali's 'Radio Mali' acoustic material from the 70s. It seemed more spiritual than this material but I dig this nevertheless.

If Ali was 'African blues', Tinariwen is 'African funk'.
