Both Sutherland and Caballe are known to be extremely kind and courteous people to be around and work with. That was their reputation. They did not have a shred of arrogance or complacence. Same goes with Sills and Nilsson.
In fact Caballe was profoundly in awe and had tremendous respect toward Sutherland and Callas in particular - two stars who came before her.
