  • They're back together at last. Would be great if this was added to the set list on the tour.

  • Thats quite Grungey for the roses.

  • BYE BAD B MA

  • i love this song!

  • i thought i heard everything they ever done..... untill now! ta mate

  • sounds like so young man

  • which album isthis from?

  • @efhsa8731 This is from the Garage Flower album. It was recorded in 1985 but was scrapped because the Roses weren't happy with it and felt their sound had changed too much, and it was finally released in 1996 without the band's approval.

  • @paulph12002 i cant believe they didnt like the sound cause i love it! ,D they were perfectionists. thats why they made a better debute album but it also made em split. i guess.

  • @efhsa8731 I love this rawer sound too. It's my favourite early Roses track and would have made a great single.

  • @paulph12002 Bought this bootleg in '95 and saw the band in a totally new light. I'd a better version of Mission Impossible than I got on the CD.

  • @paulph12002 Probably cos andy couzens needed the cash!Lol.

  • Hmm now how The Stone Roses didnt record three albums is beyond me ......But the albums they did record ,would have they been the same if "the garage flowers" had been on general release ?

  • thats too good

  • Oh My RENI! :D :D

  • RENI = SICKNESS!!

  • Good 1984 post punk. They aimed for the heart and soul.

  • the garage flower tracks drumming is incredible

  • 1st time iv ever heard this tune,im likin it n all. another top song i dnt know 2 much about the earliest roses tracks, i gt 5 roses albums is ther any more?

  • @C4NTK33P5T1LL jst lotsa singles

  • I thought it was a stone block, don`t know why:) Great album though, excellent raw sound throughout which distinguishes it from the other two albums. I heard recently they dissowned this, album is that correct anyone?

  • I love this raw period of the Roses...but what is a "Stave"?

  • @ucla4eva , i may be wrong but i thought a stave was the 5 lines which musical notes appeared on in music's written form.

  • You might be right mate...for some reason I thought it was something you have on your roof...lol!

  • @ucla4eva sounds like some sort of cooking item

  • @ucla4eva its like a cooker, or just another word for a cooker.

  • i reckon if they had taken all the songs from Garage Flower and went over them and changed the sound and added stuff etc...and got John Leckie to produce it, it would be a fucking good album! still is but it would be 100x better

  • i cant get over the display of drumming Reni throws out! in my opinion thee greatest drummer that ever lived!

  • Amen brother...I always thought Keith Moon did WAY too much fills and bullshit, not even close Reni! Alan Wren...Best Drummer ever!

  • they had an harder edge back when they did this, this is off there 1st album really, with the "stone roses" bein there 2nd,they were really influenced by the Clash at the time, squire actually went to all but 2 of the uk gigs the Clash did on there 16 tonnes tour,...early Roses,..cool...!!!

  • i love there early stuff just as much as as i love the stone roses or 2nd comin.

garage flower is a hidden masterpiece in my opinion

  • im going to get slayed for this but i dont see anything here at all. Id love to know what happened to them between 85 and 87 because its like a completely different group of people (i put it down to the drugs). No-ones a bigger Roses fan than me, i was (still am) absolutely obsessed with those boys - for at least year after hearing the album i took it literally everywhere with me incase i ended up somewhere where i could put it on. Hearing the GarageFlower CD stunned me. Not great at all.

  • Its only a very rough demo album, good songs poor production.

  • take your ear plugs out maybe?..this is good though, hence why i keep referrin to it an postin on fb in the hope that plazzy roses heads take heed.weird init, that 20 odd yrs on we feel we have to justify..smile ;)

  • Top tune

  • reni could not only drum like no other,he had a beautiful voice,as displayed on tunes such as mersey paradise, she bang;s the drums and many other's which can't be recollected at this moment, due to my innebriation i'm afraid to say.swansea.

  • Reni did those sweet backin vocals with the roses,i often think that gets overlooked, his voice, and as a drummer,i think every drummer wanted to sound like him at the time.........!!!

  • Yeah, this is a top tune. Along with So Young and Tell Me, this is probably the best of the 1985 tracks that later appeared on the Garage Flower CD.

  • 1 word immense

  • oasis "lost tapes" songs (pre popularity garage songs) sounds like this.

Stone roses are a huge band.

    greetings from argentina!

  • the early Oasis tapes sound a lot more like the La's, unless theres a load i havnt heard. Ive got the Definitely Maybe demo's/scrapped recording, which are very La's-ey and an early (1990-ish) Noel Gallagher tape which is very La's-ey again.

  • I agree, Oasis' early tunes like Colour My Life, Take Me, etc. sound heavily influenced, both top bands

  • the la's?

  • yeah, the Definitely Maybe demo's have less attack on them. The Live Forever demo, for example, starts out with an acoustic guitar. Very La's-ey.

  • This song is fucking brilliant. Menacing!

  • lordy lordy that drummer is not human !!!!

  • too right..he really was that good....never bettered..swansea,sheps.

  • Reni was regarded as a "freak" in his local community. At 20 he knew he could be in any band he wanted. Anyone else have that skil? The best drumme I've ever seen.

  • Reni is in my opinion one of the greatest drummers ever. Even Pete Townshend recognized how talented he was saying "He's the most naturally gifted drummer I've seen since Keith"

  • @number1genoa not heard block party then?

  • @jpp1g08 LOL

  • please upload more Garage Flower album's song thank you

  • Different drummer?

  • absolutly amazing tune one of the best iv heard of the stone roses

  • init!he only, actual band apart from the mondays who will remain timeless i think!i'm hammered though!wot do i know?i've just realised i've opened myself up to a stiff musical jab to the nether's! aint i!

  • love this tune. the garage flower album is older than me but is one of my faves.

  • its the bacon..simple as!who's bettered this?along with the rest of the tunes like!

  • Their Un-realesed abum called "Garage Flower" but their record copany (silver tone records) released it so they could get more money. the only way you can get it is through online sellers. Hope i helped

  • Sell it in HMV in Manchester on CD.

  • thats because that is where the stone roses started up....

  • Yeah I know, I was just making the point that it is available in shops as well as online contrary to what has been said.

  • oh reallly? well i never knew that. cheers!!!!!!
