I remember when the album came out (yes I'm old!) and my mates and me played it to death!
I wish I had the chance to see Poly and the guys live but as far as I know they were never in Norway (or Scandinavia) and flying to Britain in those days cost more than a semi attached house!
If they only could have buildt a bloody bridge! (As you knowe there is a bit of water between Britain and Norway!) Then we would have been over there pogoing with you lot!
You'll be badly missed Poly- Used to chat to her regularly when working at Harvey Nicks and pogoing to her at night- The music still makes your hair stand on end
@madiano666 You used to see her? - i am fucking jealous!!!!!!! I remember hearing her music on a college station - of course the only one who would - & that was PUNK - against the commercial stations!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know i'm artificial But don't put the blame on me I was reared with appliances In a consumer society When i put on my make-up The pretty little mask not me That's the way a girl should be In a consumer society My existence is elusive The kind that is supported By mechanical resources
wTF!! low fi new wave it'll be next.... new wave punk ska?? lets just call it folk music cause all music is folk music...... if thats not punk im a monkeys uncle
I fell in love with poly as a spotty adolescent. I still do.

This is punk. Not that stupid mohawk, safety pin, dumbass noisy bullshit the marketing executives eventually came up with.

LOVE it thank you posting this. Long Live X-Ray Spex.

Tempo is rather draggy in this rendition.
"Art-I-Ficial" is a blistering barrage on the LP -- one of my favorites.
Still great to see X-Ray Spex live from the punk moment.

@madebutante great lyrics. There's a whiff of an early ' cultural studies' lecture about them

Loved them since 1978.
BRILLIANT to see/hear them again.
From memory, I believe that a couple of the band members ended up in Transvision Vamp with Wendy James.
BTW: Its more New Wave than punk.
