How about... Uhmmm, you just show uhmm us an example of the uhmmmm aquarium so we can uhmmmm see what it uhmmm looks like uhmmm so we DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU SAYING UHMMME EVERY SECOND 8D!~
i have to turtles they are about 1 years old and one turtle is about 4.5 inches and the the other is about 3.5 inches i have a 100 litre tank do i need bigger tank
@valleystylez well i guess thats a little better. But when it grows up you will realize that it wont be your tiny baby anymore, and that you will need to get it a bigger tank.Im getting a 6 year old one from my aunt and he is in a 30 gallon tank.Besides,it will look so much better with more room, and when your baby dies, you will just reuse the tank.
@Boxers0 my baby will never die. I care for her real good. Besides, she doesn't really need a bigger tank because she doesn't even move much. She saves me money.
@valleystylez i think you do everything to make her healthy, but what about making her happy? I believe that she doesnt move much because 1.she is bored or 2.she is lethargic, which means that she is to cold to move around much.
@valleystylez A one gallon tank? Are you crazy? You need to measure your turtle. It's one gallon every inch. I mean seriously, a one gallon tank? That's inhumane! I think if you can't care for your turtle properly you don't deserve one. Do some studying because you clearly know nothing about turtles. And turtles can't show emotion if they feel bad because in the wild, the sick get eaten. "She saves me money" She isn't a friggin coupon. She's a living being that needs space. Your messed up.
@NinjaBieber Hate to break the news to you buddy but you are just as wrong and misinformed as the person you're commenting on. As a general rule turtles need 10 (that's T-E-N) gallons per inch. Not trying to chide you. Just hate for others to read your comment and become equally misinformed.
@winstonsmithization Um, okay? Why the crap are you talking to me like I'm stupid? Yeah I made a mistake. Oooh sue me. Sorry for being human?????? I HATE people who think they are better than me so stop right there.
@NinjaBieber Please don't take it personal. I meant no harm. Just don't want people to become misinformed. If someone sees your comment without correction they may believe that info to be true. I don't think your stupid nor do I think I'm better than you. So please accept my apology if I came across that way. valleystylez def is keeping his turtle in horrible conditions. Btw, do you have any videos of your turtle? If you do I'd like to see them. I love all animals, esp. our chelonian friends.
@valleystylez Let's be honest. That setup is a turtles worst nightmare. You call that living but I call that slowly and painfully dieing. I truly hope for the turtles sake you take the time and money to house her properly, or at least as best as you can. A freakin' rubbermaid container is better for goodness sakes. How would you like to live in my trunk? You wouldn't mind would you?
u wana a bet my moms best frend in high skool has a pet store and lets me get stuff for like how mucch he pays for dem and if u dont belive search up newts pets and his first name is chris and he lives here in michigan just like me representin da D
in the summer i got an 1200 gallon pond outside but in the winter i have them in a 90 gallon tank i have an about 14in snapper 2red ears and a softshell turtel i caught them all....
How big of a tank do you have? Rubbermaid stock tanks are relatively inexpensive - less than $1 per gallon and come in 100, 150, and 300 gallon sizes, if you need a larger tank.
The water level should be at least as tall as the turtle's shell is long, but it can be much deeper, especially if you have underwater resting spots. Sliders live in rivers and lakes - the water gets pretty deep.
What size enclosure can you provide when it's full grown? That's the first and most important question. Some turtles need a 40 gallon when full grown, some need a 125 gallon when full grown - and both probably start out the same size as a hatchling! So make sure you know your species and what it needs before you get a turtle.
i got my turtle in NY and it wasnt as big as these pet store ones... it was a tiny baby... i had him for 2 years now and he the size of the pet store turtles
i dont know how old my turtle is.. All i know is that i have had him for 2 years... He may be 5 or 6 yrs old... im not sure but i do feed it this growth formula which may make him bigger
mine were quarter size 2, i think that there small bacause i never had a heater or a heat lamp and so yea i think they used to hibernate but now there more active check my vid i have (its only one l0l)
Yes, as long as you have a charcoal filter. RES turtles are super resilient to water in comparison to other turtles. They take the largest range of PH levels iirc.
turtles will grow according to how much you feed them, you can control the size of the turtle by feeding them just the right amount, the more you feed them the bigger they get and wont stop growing but also remember the bigger it gets the more you have to feed it so choose wisely, a turtle can always get bigger but never get smaller
It depends on how strong your light is. put your hand on the beach, it should feel warmer than the water, but no more. if you can control de temperature on the beach, try keeping it around 30-33 Celcius (I'm from Canada I don't use F!)
There are videos on care for smaller turtles of around 4 inches. But baby turtles would still work with 30 gallons. Just make sure the water isn't as deep as regular turtles like.
Remember, baby turtles hand out in smaller pools of water before entering deeper space. Go with about 5 inches deep.

no, if it's a wild caught turtle you should release it no matter what. No turtle should be taken from the wild, that is common sense. to take one from the wild is both selfish and wrong
then it'll die due to the large amount of amonia it produces and the limited space. DO the turtle and you both a favor and give it to the pet store since you obiously can't give it proper housing.
